Artist To Watch, Blake Shelton, Brian Fuente, Cee Lo Green, christina aguilera, The Black Keys, The Voice
Artist To Watch: Brian Fuente
Very rarely can a vocalist take the stage in a crowded venue and immediately grab the attention of the entire room. Brian Fuente is a frontman with a ‘voice’ that has been known to turn heads since age nine, when he first picked up a guitar and taught himself to rock. The seasoned singer-songwriter hails from Ridgeland, Mississippi, a small town just outside of Jackson. The product of a guitar player and jazz vocalist, Fuente performed as a teen in between his mother’s sets at local clubs. Growing up in a musical household he later found his way on the road playing his own shows at clubs and venues, where…

Kelly Clarkson: Stronger
It’s been nearly a decade since the world watched Kelly Clarkson, the Texas-native girl next door, take the title as America’s first Idol. Nine years later, and still one of the show’s most successful spawns (aside from country Queen Carrie Underwood), Clarkson emerges with her fifth album entitled Stronger. No stranger to pop-anthems and power ballads – Clarkson’s last efforts taught the master class -, it’s those missing elements that keep this album from actually living up to its title. Sure, the disco-inspired title track “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)” has all the makings of a Top 40 mega-hit. It bursts into the turbulent, feel-good chorus we’ve come to expect…

Idol Informer
As the ninth season of American Idol continues to dominate the ratings – probably people tuning in to get their final fix of Simon unleash on the nation’s tone deaf – other Idol news is dominating the headlines. As more and more celebrities continue to turn their charitable efforts towards relief in Haiti, Idol judge Simon Cowell has joined in the efforts. Cowell is teaming with The Sun to record a charity single for the paper’s Helping Haiti campaign. Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Wyclef Jean are on board for the track and it is rumored that Cowell’s artists Susan Boyle and Leona Lewis could be lending the voices to the…

Music Again: For Your Entertainment
If you watched last night’s American Music Awards, you might still be feeling some of the shock from the…performance? … Adam Lambert put on. Aside from the fact that it was WAY too over the top, his vocal left me wondering what happened to the voice that America had come to know during his run on American Idol. He was winded and nervous, which was apparent when he tumbled across the stage in a tuck and roll formation after tripping on his pointed black boots. He recovered, but only to continue delivering one of the most racy and sexually in-your-face performances ever aired on TV, screaming “can you handle what I’m…

It’s Confirmed! Idol has a new judge!
It has been confirmed that Ellen DeGeneres will be the official new judge on the new season of American Idol. She made the announcement yesterday that she will be joining the judges panel as the voice of the people when the show premieres in January. I wonder how her and Simon will get along, it’s definitely not going to be as catty as Paula’s antics. Check out Ellen making the announcement below: What do you think of this decision? Is Ellen the right choice?

Vintage Glambert
Even without the crazy hair and guyliner, Adam Lambert still had the voice. Here’s a vintage clip of him at his Mt. Carmel High School graduation singing “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye” by Boys II Men. He’s sporting his natural blonde hair color and no makeup in sight. My how people change after high school. Take a look.

Britney Wants Out!
It has been reported numerous times that our pop starlet is not happy with the progress she is making in her life, which concerns us, seeing as it seems so positive. There have also been reports that the viruses in her life, Adnan Ghalib and Sam Lufti, are trying to help her lift the conservatorship so she may make her own decisions again. In the most recent voicemail (there are a series of them floating around the net) that has been leaked, Britney questions the threats that her own father has made to take her children from her. What is going on over at Camp Britney? We can understand if…

Top 13: Michael Jackson
Alright, so to kick start the Top 13 of the competition, the Idols were required to choose songs from our very own King of Pop, Michael Jackson. And if Michael Jackson were still able to conceptualize what was actually taking place on that stage, or on any stage for that matter, he might have pulled his collection of hits from the song pool. Randy started the show, as he always does, by saying, “this is the way to start Season 8”. Unfortunately, if this was the start of the season, we’d be in for a very long, very uncomfortable season. The highlights from last week’s show were less about the…

Real Housewives, Epic Meltdowns, and Too Much Drama: A Delightful Discussion
If you’re a fan of the Real Housewives franchise, you’re in luck because The Gist podcast has got you covered. In a recent episode, they discussed the latest drama on Real Housewives of New Jersey and Real Housewives of Miami, and let’s just say, it’s juicy. First off, Danielle from Real Housewives of New Jersey has captured the attention of the podcast host, Chris Vetrano. He’s loving her and waiting patiently for her to have an epic meltdown that rivals Teresa’s infamous table flip. But not everyone is impressed with Danielle, as Jackie is coming off as desperate and attacking her for no reason other than being the new blonde…
