Do you have “The X Factor” (or think you do, rather)? The brand that delivered international superstars such as Leona Lewis, One Direction and Cher Lloyd are on the hunt for America’s next international superstar. The highly talked about second season gave us promising new acts like Emblem 3, Fifth Harmony and Carly Rose Sonenclar, but the U.S. version of the series has yet to deliver an act as big as the UK version of the show. If you think you have what it takes, then consider the gauntlet officially thrown. THE X FACTOR auditions will be held in the following cities: LOS ANGELES, CADate: Wednesday, March 6Venue: Galen Center CHARLESTON, SCDate:…

The X Factor: Season 2 Finale
The final three remaining teams took The X Factor stage last night to compete for America’s vote and become the second winner of the series. While America’s first winner, Melanie Amaro, has failed to impact with her first single, the UK version has delivered international success with acts including Leona Lewis, Cher Lloyd and One Direction. Tate Stevens, the country crooner from Team L.A. Reid, has consistently topped the leaderboard this season. No surprise considering the devotion of a country audience and Stevens’ loyal family-man quality. His performances last night were mediocre at best and his pairing with Little Big Town on “Pontoon” was awkward, but I won’t be surprised if…

American TwIdols
American Idol goes live tonight for it’s first round of contestants singing for America’s votes. First up, the girls will face off in a 2-hour episode that is rumored to feature songs by Michael Buble and Leona Lewis. Then, tomorrow night, the boys take the stage to croon their way to the top, which will feature Alex Lambert’s version of Etta James’ “At Last” and Joe Munoz taking on The Who. Thursday’s results show will feature last year’s Allison Iraheta our current Idol, Kris Allen, who are likely coming to hock their struggling albums. Apparently not even Idol producers believe in their albums enough to give them their own night. …

The Grapevine
A lot of news to report in the world of music and I’m pleased to say a lot of it is in the name of charity. With the devastation continuing to overtake Haiti, celebrities across the board are putting their names, brands, and money towards the cause. For music fans, that means we’ve got a lot of great charitable music to buy. The Hope For Haiti compilation, live recordings from the telethon, is the biggest selling album this week, also making it the highest selling charity CD of all time. Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris‘ version of the song, “Hallelujah” from the telethon is the most downloaded song on iTunes…

Idol Informer
As the ninth season of American Idol continues to dominate the ratings – probably people tuning in to get their final fix of Simon unleash on the nation’s tone deaf – other Idol news is dominating the headlines. As more and more celebrities continue to turn their charitable efforts towards relief in Haiti, Idol judge Simon Cowell has joined in the efforts. Cowell is teaming with The Sun to record a charity single for the paper’s Helping Haiti campaign. Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Wyclef Jean are on board for the track and it is rumored that Cowell’s artists Susan Boyle and Leona Lewis could be lending the voices to the…

Video: Avatar’s "I See You"
Leona Lewis provides the theme song to the upcoming blockbuster event, Avatar. And while the track is no “My Heart Will Go On”, I am sure that producers are already clearing Leona’s schedule so she can take the stage at the Academy Awards to perform the song, “I See You”. I’ve seen multiple trailers for this film and I am still unsure what it’s about, but I guess I’ll check it out when it arrives in theaters. In the meantime, here’s the theme song’s music video with the lovely and talented Leona Lewis.

Miss Divas?
On Thursday, VH1 revived its “Divas” series with Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Adele, Miley Cyrus, Jordin Sparks, Leona Lewis, and hosted by Paula Abdul. Now, my first thought was they needed to see a definition of diva because the line up was a little mixed. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Jordin Sparks, but a diva?? Not quite. She needs about 10 more power ballads and at least one more headlining tour, when she isn’t opening for Britney Spears. It was quite heavy with Idol alums, especially with Abdul hosting the evening’s events. I would have gladly traded Sparks for the country diva, Carrie Underwood. But, I guess…
