Artist To Watch: Tyler Ward
It would be silly for me to try to introduce you to Tyler Ward because, with over 1 million subscribers and almost 315 million views, you’re more than likely familiar with at least one of the many covers he’s featured on his popular YouTube channel. If you’re a regular reader of Tragic Kingdom, you know that I grew up in a small suburban town outside of Denver, only recently transplanting myself to Nashville. If you’re one of the millions of Tyler Ward fans, you know he too hails from Denver; a fact that brought us together in the halls of our Highlands Ranch school long before his first video hit the…

Kelly Clarkson: Stronger
It’s been nearly a decade since the world watched Kelly Clarkson, the Texas-native girl next door, take the title as America’s first Idol. Nine years later, and still one of the show’s most successful spawns (aside from country Queen Carrie Underwood), Clarkson emerges with her fifth album entitled Stronger. No stranger to pop-anthems and power ballads – Clarkson’s last efforts taught the master class -, it’s those missing elements that keep this album from actually living up to its title. Can’t Get Over Sara Bareilles’ New Single
When Kaleidoscope Heart was released last year, I fell in love with the sweet vocals and charming lyrical style of Sara Bareilles. Of course she had me in 2007 with her massive hit “Love Song”, but until her sophomore LP it wasn’t clear where her place would be in this fickle industry. Now, with two hit albums under her belt, a seat at the judges table on NBC’s hit series The Sing Off and a catchy new single impacting radio and quickly climbing the charts, she’s captured the hearts of millions. Her latest single “Gonna Get Over You” comes with a new version of the track featuring the unstoppable Ryan Tedder.…

All She Ever Wanted
Kelly Clarkson was first discovered in 2002 when she won the hearts of millions and was crowned the first ever American Idol. She didn’t know it at the time, but she had set the bar very high for future Idol hopefuls. Her rich, soulful voice blended with her “cool beans” attitude and diva-like performances, Clarkson hit every note just right. Now, two Grammy’s, and over 20 million albums later, she is a force that is truly unstoppable. All I Ever Wanted, her fourth album, is cheerful, upbeat, and a sure-fire hit. Something I am sure that pleases her label RCA and its head-honcho Clive Davis. In 2007, upon the release of…
