On The Rise: Jackson Guthy Q&A + Win Tickets To Summer Break Tour
You may have first seen 17-year-old Jackson Guthy on The Ellen DeGeneres show, where the music-loving talk-show host gave the singer a chance to show off his talents in 2011 – and then again earlier this year. Since his first appearance on the show, Guthy has toured with acts like Big Time Rush and One Direction and released a number of catchy singles. The pop act will release his EP entitled Launch later this year, which will include tracks “Bad Boy” and “Brothers & Sisters.” This Friday, Guthy kicks off his 38-city tour opening for Victoria Justice and Big Time Rush on the massive Summer Break Tour. If you don’t yet know about this…

Jason Aldean & Kelly Clarkson To Go #1
Academy of Country Music‘s nominee for Entertainer of the Year, Jason Aldean, is busy making the talk-rounds in LA this week. Earlier today, his stop by The Ellen Show aired, where he performed his newest monster hit “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with his vocal companion Kelly Clarkson. The performance was incredible per usual: Jason delivered, ‘the boys’ (Rich Redmond, Kurt Allison, and Tully Kennedy) rocked it, and Kelly’s vocals were flawless. But it was backstage where Clarkson spilled some exciting news. Check out this web exclusive video of two of Tragic Kingdom’s featured artists behind-the-scenes after their performance. And if you unforgivably missed the performance, Tragic Kingdom has your back. Enjoy!…

Matt Morris: Live Forever
A Tragic Kingdom friend and favorite, Matt Morris is re-releasing his debut album, When Everything Breaks Open, which originally came out in January on Tennman Records. Since that time, Matt has been featured on David Letterman, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Hope for Haiti telethon, and much more, gaining massive attention all across the globe. On July 13th, the album will be relaunched – with a new look (above) – and under the distribution of the major label, of which he is now a part of, Interscope. And to go along with the more polished look, his first single, “Live Forever”, got the superstar treatment, premiering it accompanying music video…

Idol Recap: Top 20
Idol kicked off this week with the news of Crystal Bowersox entering the hospital for what is rumored to be a severe case of diabetes. The singer’s illness left the producers unsure whether she’d be well enough to sing on last Tuesday’s show, so they pulled a last minute switcheroo instructing the boys kick off the week. And the boys seemed okay with the mix-up on Tuesday night’s American Idol showdown, which brought out a smidge more talent than we saw in the first go around. Unfortunately, compared to the show’s previous seasons it is clear this crop of guys isn’t going to leave viewers overly impressed. The most improved…

Idol Recap: Top 24
American Idol‘s ninth season officially kicked off last Tuesday, as 12 guys and 12 girls performed live for America. The troupe of girls went first, performing a variety of songs chosen by them on Tuesday’s performance show. And there lies the problem: song choice. An early Idol Insider front-runner, Ashley Rodriguez, chose to take on the power ballad “Happy”, but failed to reproduce Leona Lewis’ powerhouse chops. Janell Wheeler, who was another favorite during Hollywood Week failed to create a star quality on stage, letting her nerves get the best of her. Other early favorites, Lacey Brown and Katie Stevens, also failed to shine, picking songs that weren’t suited for…

EXCLUSIVE: Matt Morris In Denver
After a whirlwind promotional tour surrounding the release of his new album, When Everything Breaks Open, Matt Morris has found his way back home to Denver, Colorado. In the past couple of months, Morris has gone from singer-songwriter to star – performing with Justin Timberlake on the Hope For Haiti Telethon, singing for Ellen DeGeneres, George Lopez, and David Letterman, and appearing on multiple local and cable shows. But it was in his hometown where the very humble and grounded performer got to experience some of his new found popularity for, what seemed like, the first time. The Ultimate Idol Surprise
American Idol Season 9 contestant, Angela Martin, came into Hollywood week hoping that this year would be her year. Martin, who has tried out for the show three years running and made it to Hollywood each year, has overcome a lot of struggle – her dad was murdered one week before her first shot at the Top 24 and traffic violations landed her in jail her second go around. This year it seemed the Idol hopeful’s dreams were going to come true – she got plenty of on-air time during the audition process and seemed to be a favorite among the judges. So when Kara DioGuardi moved from her seat…

Please Be Kind and Remind
Ellen joins the judges panel on tonight’s American Idol as the contestants begin the grueling rounds of Hollywood Week. And while Ellen was excited to join the juggernaut series, it seems all is not well between her and Britain’s bad boy, Simon Cowell. It was recently reported that the two are not speaking to each other after Simon arrived an hour and a half late for the first taping. The talk show host was greatly annoyed with British bully’s tardiness and insisted the producers begin without him. Once Simon arrived, things were tense and continued to escalate from there. A source from the series says, “It’s a lot more tense…

Have you heard of Matt Morris? Ha! Well, if you’re keeping up with the Idol Insider you should have answered yes, seeing that we’ve almost exclusively covered his career this year. It rocked my face off and I know it will rock yours off, too. So there you have it…
