What The GIF? Vol. 4
The sun is shining and the allergies are in full swing, which can only mean one thing: it’s May! I realize my updates have been few and far between lately, but I promise it’s not because I don’t love you all (that only applies to some of you). The sun is shining, flowers are a bloom and there’s a new project being cooked up at V for Vetrano HQ (details coming soon). But I couldn’t let you go any longer without serving up another helping of What The GIF? With the nice weather, and my new project in full swing, I’m ready to get back into the routine of things…

First Listen: Lana Del Rey "Young & Beautiful"
The Great Gatsby soundtrack, which is available for pre-order now, has musical genius written all over it with original tunes from artists like will.i.am, Florence & the Machine, a new solo track from Fergie and a Beyoncé cover of Amy Winehouse‘s “Back to Black”. The lead single from the highly anticipated film’s soundtrack is a deliciously haunting track delivered by the Lana Del Rey., who may just have been born for this performance. The songstress, who refers to her style as “Hollywood Sadcore,” may be the most obvious yet brilliant choice for the Baz Luhrmann film. Listen to “Young & Beautiful” now below and pre-order the soundtrack now on iTunes to get the…

2013 is certainly shaping up to be a big one in music with new records coming from some of the biggest pop stars on the planet. Girl (Who Run the World) has been preparing for her new record and huge world tour. Today, the first single from the upcoming album, set to accompany the Mrs. Carter world tour, dropped. Fans seem to be on the fence about the track, as they took to Twitter to share their opinions. Listen to “Bow Down / I Been On” below now and share your thoughts. Is…

Grammy Recap
Last night marked the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards live on CBS. The performances were great, the acceptance speeches were short, and the house was packed with A-List stars. While the rumors that Britney Spears would perform turned out false, yet again, the starlet did attend the ceremony and the night had some great performances. Some of the highlights included Green Day‘s “21 Guns” as it will appear in the upcoming stage production American Idiot, P!nk‘s aerial performance, Black Eyed Peas and Lady Antebellum singing their hits “I Gotta Feeling” and “Need You Now”. My favorite performance of the night was the 3-D tribute to Michael Jackson featuring Carrie Underwood, Celine…

The Grapevine
A lot of news to report in the world of music and I’m pleased to say a lot of it is in the name of charity. With the devastation continuing to overtake Haiti, celebrities across the board are putting their names, brands, and money towards the cause. For music fans, that means we’ve got a lot of great charitable music to buy. The Hope For Haiti compilation, live recordings from the telethon, is the biggest selling album this week, also making it the highest selling charity CD of all time. Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris‘ version of the song, “Hallelujah” from the telethon is the most downloaded song on iTunes…

Idol Informer
As the ninth season of American Idol continues to dominate the ratings – probably people tuning in to get their final fix of Simon unleash on the nation’s tone deaf – other Idol news is dominating the headlines. As more and more celebrities continue to turn their charitable efforts towards relief in Haiti, Idol judge Simon Cowell has joined in the efforts. Cowell is teaming with The Sun to record a charity single for the paper’s Helping Haiti campaign. Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Wyclef Jean are on board for the track and it is rumored that Cowell’s artists Susan Boyle and Leona Lewis could be lending the voices to the…

Hope For Haiti
Last night network and cable television was filled with Hope. The Hope For Haiti telethon aired last night in hopes of raising funds for relief in Haiti. Live from London, New York, and Los Angeles, stars of all kinds gathered in support. Performances by Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Jay Z, Rihanna, Bono, Sting, Sheryl Crow, Alicia Keys, Keith Urban, and many more made up the two hours of what will hopefully be a continuation of support from Americans to the country that is in such need right now. Please click the link above and give what you can. You can also download all of last night’s performance on iTunes…

3 Is A Charm, 2 Is Not The Same
Britney premiered her new video for the number one single, “3”, this morning. While the video lacks any oohs and aahs, Britney looks hot, despite the obvious attempt to recreate a “Single Ladies” vibe! Fellas, it’s worth a watch – enjoy!
