Grammy Recap
Last night marked the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards live on CBS. The performances were great, the acceptance speeches were short, and the house was packed with A-List stars. While the rumors that Britney Spears would perform turned out false, yet again, the starlet did attend the ceremony and the night had some great performances. Some of the highlights included Green Day‘s “21 Guns” as it will appear in the upcoming stage production American Idiot, P!nk‘s aerial performance, Black Eyed Peas and Lady Antebellum singing their hits “I Gotta Feeling” and “Need You Now”. My favorite performance of the night was the 3-D tribute to Michael Jackson featuring Carrie Underwood, Celine…

Miss Divas?
On Thursday, VH1 revived its “Divas” series with Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Adele, Miley Cyrus, Jordin Sparks, Leona Lewis, and hosted by Paula Abdul. Now, my first thought was they needed to see a definition of diva because the line up was a little mixed. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Jordin Sparks, but a diva?? Not quite. She needs about 10 more power ballads and at least one more headlining tour, when she isn’t opening for Britney Spears. It was quite heavy with Idol alums, especially with Abdul hosting the evening’s events. I would have gladly traded Sparks for the country diva, Carrie Underwood. But, I guess…

American Idol will continue next week with its Top 7 and the Idol Insider has the scoop. The theme for next week’s show is Songs from the Movies with Quentin Tarantino mentoring the contestants. The results show will feature season 3 contestant Jennifer Hudson, who will perform her latest single “If This Isn’t Love”, and Miley Cyrus, who will promote the release of her movie Hannah Montana: The Movie and perform a song from the soundtrack, “The Climb”.
