Along the way, she’s created a viral buzz with her renditions of some of the most recognizable songs in music during the ‘fan request’ section of her show. It’s no doubt that she’ll be closing the tour (on Sept. 15th) in Nashville with a bang – and Tragic Kingdom will be there to capture every moment – but before we celebrate her choice for Music City, let’s look…

Best Of 2011: Top 10 Songs
2011 was quite a year for music – some of the biggest albums of our time hit the shelves, legends were made, and newcomers burst onto the scene with feverous vengeance. Listed below are the top ten tracks Tragic Kingdom played on repeat all year long. 10. Foster the People: Pumped Up Kicks. These electronic rockers had a big year and whether you liked it or not, you had to bob your head to the controversial single that seemed to play every 5 minutes on radio all over the country. It’ll be interesting to see where these guys take their next project, but for now let’s retire this catchy number…

Artist To Watch: SPELLS
It’s Fall, which means the trees are turning deep shades of reds and oranges and the air is crisp and cool. But Fall also means that new music is dropping just as quickly as the leaves. Some of the year’s biggest and most anticipated releases of the year make their debut during the colder months, (see Coldplay, Ryan Adams, Kelly Clarkson, etc.) and in the midst of all that music, it’s rare that an undiscovered emerging talent makes its way onto Listen! It’s Vetrano. But ever since I first heard SPELLS in the late summer, I haven’t been able to stop listening to his captivating debut EP Escapist. A unique…

Kelly Clarkson: Stronger
It’s been nearly a decade since the world watched Kelly Clarkson, the Texas-native girl next door, take the title as America’s first Idol. Nine years later, and still one of the show’s most successful spawns (aside from country Queen Carrie Underwood), Clarkson emerges with her fifth album entitled Stronger. No stranger to pop-anthems and power ballads – Clarkson’s last efforts taught the master class -, it’s those missing elements that keep this album from actually living up to its title. Sure, the disco-inspired title track “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)” has all the makings of a Top 40 mega-hit. It bursts into the turbulent, feel-good chorus we’ve come to expect…

Clarkson Vs. Coldplay
Kelly Clarkson announced via Twitter a few weeks ago that her fifth album would be released on October 24th. Yup, that’s right, she’s taking on the juggernaut Coldplay. This afternoon, Clarkson tweeted again revealing the album’s artwork. So we clearly know who will win on the charts, but who’s winning the creative battle? You decide. VS.
