Wednesday Wrap-Up: Everybody Talks Edition
The music world is buzzing this evening with the announcement of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s latest inductees, Amy Winehouse‘s latest (and last) release, and the passing of Barbara Orbison, on the 23rd anniversary of her husband’s passing. And today, Neon Trees – Tragic Kingdom’s pick for best act of 2010 – released a stream of their new single, “Everybody Talks”. The Sixties-inspired track, from their upcoming album Picture Show, is not much of a departure from the band’s successful smash singles, but frontman Tyler Glenn promises Rolling Stone that the new album will be. With a catchy pop hook, it’s clear the band that earned them one of the biggest…

Artist To Watch: The Pretty Reckless
It’s late in the day, Sunday afternoon, and I realize I’m severely behind in introducing you to the latest featured artist in the Tragic Kingdom family. And it’s not that I want to keep you in the dark any longer, but every time I sit down to start typing away, I end up getting lost in awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping video clips and interviews from the latest addition to our growing community. If you had told me I’d be introducing Taylor Momsen to the site a few years ago, when she was just known for her role as the innocent-turned bad girl Jenny Humphrey on The CW’s Gossip Girl, I would have…

Britney Spears: Femme Fatale
With only a week remaining until the reigning Princess of Pop, Britney Spears, drops her seventh studio album, you can already hear the music industry’s most well-oiled machines greasing up to embark on the next era in the entertainer’s career. It doesn’t seem long ago that those keyboard power chords of “Baby One More Time” first impacted our stereo. Yet with so much personal turmoil and public scrutiny it’s hard to remember some of the professional highlights from the seasoned star, who’s closing in on 20 years in the industry. One thing that is not hard to forget however, is the formula. Each of the last six Spears albums delivered…

Only 6 More Days
The Tragic Kingdom is all a-buzz tonight! And it’s not from that baked good we found stashed in our suitcase left over from our SXSW trip in Austin, it’s much more stimulating. Glee’s season premiere ended with this: Need I say more? This is going to be an epic television event, one the Tragic Kingdom will certainly be tuning in for… I wonder how long baked goods last.

Candies To My Eyes
Britney Spears, who became the face of Candie’s brand last year, is preparing to launch a new Candies at Kohl’s campaign, “Through The Lens”. The singer, who was just named the Sexiest Woman in Music by Billboard Magazine, debuted some hot new photos on her website, taken by Annie Leibovitz, while the Candies site includes a teaser for the upcoming campaign to launch the brand’s spring line. The full campaign and images should be released soon. Extra and Access Hollywood stopped by on the set of the new photoshoot to catch up with the pop singer – videos below.

Grammy Recap
Last night marked the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards live on CBS. The performances were great, the acceptance speeches were short, and the house was packed with A-List stars. While the rumors that Britney Spears would perform turned out false, yet again, the starlet did attend the ceremony and the night had some great performances. Some of the highlights included Green Day‘s “21 Guns” as it will appear in the upcoming stage production American Idiot, P!nk‘s aerial performance, Black Eyed Peas and Lady Antebellum singing their hits “I Gotta Feeling” and “Need You Now”. My favorite performance of the night was the 3-D tribute to Michael Jackson featuring Carrie Underwood, Celine…

The Grapevine
A lot of news to report in the world of music and I’m pleased to say a lot of it is in the name of charity. With the devastation continuing to overtake Haiti, celebrities across the board are putting their names, brands, and money towards the cause. For music fans, that means we’ve got a lot of great charitable music to buy. The Hope For Haiti compilation, live recordings from the telethon, is the biggest selling album this week, also making it the highest selling charity CD of all time. Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris‘ version of the song, “Hallelujah” from the telethon is the most downloaded song on iTunes…

Artist To Watch: Matt Morris
If you haven’t heard the name Matt Morris, or found yourself jamming out to his tunes, you soon will. Matt, a resident of Denver, Colorado, is prepping the release of his debut album, titled “When Everything Breaks Open”. Coincidence? I think not. The soulful, pop tracks delivered on his first effort indicate that Matt is destined to break wide open. But this won’t be Morris’ first time in the spotlight. He got his start on The New Mickey Mouse Club (and there is plenty of footage to prove it), where he acted, sung, and danced his way into the hearts of many alongside Britney Spears, Keri Russell, Christina Aguilera, and…

The Grapevine
Now that it’s the new year, I think I am finally over the news of Carrie Underwood‘s engagement, and am ready to move on with my own, real life. Ha! But, since it took us so long to recover from the devastating blow, I’ve left you gossip-less and surely in need of an update. So, what is the world of pop music talking about to ring in the new year? Starting with Underwood news, we’re excited to announce that Carrie will make her acting debut in an upcoming episode of How I Met Your Mother. Underwood will play Tiffany, “an enigmatic pharmaceutical sales rep and love interest” for lead character,…

3 Is A Charm, 2 Is Not The Same
Britney premiered her new video for the number one single, “3”, this morning. While the video lacks any oohs and aahs, Britney looks hot, despite the obvious attempt to recreate a “Single Ladies” vibe! Fellas, it’s worth a watch – enjoy!
