Britney Spears put her concert on hold, four songs in to the show, on Wednesday night during the Vancouver stop of her Circus tour because it was too smokey in the arena. An announcement came on the loud speaker, informing fans that the show would not continue if concert goers continued to smoke tobacco and marijuana. 30 minutes later the show continued, as planned, but Britney had a special message to her fans at the end of the show. American Idol will continue next week with its Top 7 and the Idol Insider has the scoop. The theme for next week’s show is Songs from the Movies with Quentin Tarantino mentoring the contestants. For the first time in 9 years, a female took home the top spot at the Academy of Country Music Awards tonight. The reigning Top Female Vocalist and America’s Season 4 Idol, Carrie Underwood, was named the seventh female to be nominated as entertainer of the year and was the first to score the honor since 2000, when the Dixie Chicks were awarded the honor. Congrats to Carrie, who also received the award as Top Female Vocalist again and performed twice throughout the evening.
