About Chris Vetrano
Some people end up in pop culture. Chris Vetrano was built for it. From managing nationally recognized musical acts to landing in the heart of Nashville’s entertainment scene, his career has always orbited the intersection of music, personality, and storytelling — which is exactly how Listen! It’s Vetrano was born.
From Denver to Music City
Chris grew up in Denver, Colorado, where an early obsession with music and culture set the course for everything that followed. He cut his teeth in the industry helping launch Village Voice Media’s national social media presence, co-founding a marketing and PR firm that worked with brands like Rolling Rock and Verizon Wireless, and playing a key role in building The UMS — the western United States’ largest independent music festival.
That work led him straight to Nashville. Once there, Chris became Vice President of Artist Relations and Business Development at Brite Revolution, a music discovery platform and popular music magazine. He quickly became a fixture in Music City — developing campaigns for local businesses, managing nationally recognized acts, and serving on committees for the Nashville Humane Society and Nashville Fashion Week.
The Access That Sets Him Apart
Years spent inside the music and entertainment industry gave Chris something most pop culture writers don’t have: real relationships. The kind of trust that gets you a genuine conversation with a celebrity — not just a soundbite. That network, built over years of handshakes and honest advocacy, is the engine behind The Gist Podcast and everything Listen! It’s Vetrano stands for.
The Executive Behind the Mic
In 2015, Chris made a pivot that took him from backstage to boardroom. He joined Lyft to build the company’s first social media support team, growing it from 5 to 50+ people in two years and earning national recognition as a leader in the digital support space. His success led to a senior role overseeing customer experience for Lyft’s Bikes & Scooters venture, and in 2020 he was named one of Netomi’s Top 25 Trailblazing Customer Experience Leaders. Today Chris continues to work as a senior executive in the customer experience world — a career he’s proud of, even as his heart remains squarely in pop culture.
Listen! It’s Vetrano
Listen! It’s Vetrano is where all of it comes together. Part blog, part podcast, all personality — the site covers pop culture, entertainment, food, fashion, and travel through the lens of someone who has actually lived in those worlds. Chris brings a rare mix of industry credibility and genuine enthusiasm to every story, interview, and recommendation.
At the center of it all is The Gist Podcast, where Chris sits down with celebrities, entertainers, and cultural tastemakers for conversations that go deeper than the headline. Guests range from reality TV icons to musicians, and the through line is always the same: these are people who actually want to talk to him.
