American TwIdols
American Idol goes live tonight for it’s first round of contestants singing for America’s votes. First up, the girls will face off in a 2-hour episode that is rumored to feature songs by Michael Buble and Leona Lewis. Then, tomorrow night, the boys take the stage to croon their way to the top, which will feature Alex Lambert’s version of Etta James’ “At Last” and Joe Munoz taking on The Who. Thursday’s results show will feature last year’s Allison Iraheta our current Idol, Kris Allen, who are likely coming to hock their struggling albums. Apparently not even Idol producers believe in their albums enough to give them their own night. …

Idol Updates
It seems everywhere you turn these days there’s an Idol alum in your path, mostly because that’s the truth. About to enter its 9th season, American Idol, has run through some of America’s best talent and with each season it seems more and more of the contestants go on to be winners, despite their loss on the reality program, leaving the majority of our playlists, car stereos, and download logs to include some Idol association somewhere. This will be illustrated at this year’s American Music Awards, airing November 22nd on ABC, when Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, and Adam Lambert will all take the stage to perform their latest hits…

Tell Me Lies
Friday, American Idol took over Good Morning America as David Cook, Kris Allen, and Adam Lambert took the stage for various performances. To cap off the Idol-filled show, the trio sang the Fleetwood Mac classic “Little Lies”. It’s always interesting to see various Idols sing together – you really get a sense of who’s truly the best singers. In this case, David Cook definitely takes the cake. What do you think?

Three’s Company
The season just ended and already Idol contestants are getting signed to record deals. It comes as no surprise that Kris Allen would be signed to a deal, since he won this year’s competition, but it was confirmed this week that he will be joining Britney Spears, Ciara and fellow Idol, Jordin Sparks, on Jive Records. Kris announced his excitement in joining Jive’s roster, as well as saying he can’t wait to start work on his album, which will feature music much like what we heard from him on the show. Also, not surprisingly, Adam Lambert will be recording an album for release in the fall/early winter, which will feature…

It’s No Surprise
American Idol runner up, Adam Lambert, continues to take the spotlight off this year’s winner, Kris Allen, as he graces the cover of Rolling Stone this week. The new issue promises to feature “The Liberation of Adam Lambert”, which apparently means focusing on his sexuality, rather than his career. And it comes as no surprise, at least to the majority of the population, when Adam Lambert announced in the article his sexual preference, saying “I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay”. Lambert says he’s proud of who he is, but that he’s “trying to be a singer, not a civil right leader”.…

Second Day
Vacation for me continues – and no doubt, I am enjoying the heat in sunny Arizona. The Idol winner, Kris Allen, performed with Keith Urban, one week ago, before being crowned the winner. Check out this awesome performance of “Kiss the Girl” and watch Kris Allen’s journey through season 8. Kris Allen Is An American Idol
Congratulations to Kris Allen, our newest American Idol, on his surprising win last night! Both Kris and Adam brought some real talent to the long running reality series and both deserved to be there last night. And while Allen won the title, both Kris and Adam have released the single, “No Boundaries” to iTunes today (at press time Lambert was beating Kris on the top downloads chart), showcasing that both are embarking on some successful careers. But, first let’s revisit last night’s show. Allen sang with Keith Urban, showcasing a cool country vibe that we hadn’t seen from him, even during country week. Lambert sang with KISS, which was one…

Idol Finale Recap
As the final Idol hopefuls took the stage last night, American knew they were in for a treat when Adam Lambert and Kris Allen faced off in one of the best finales in the history of the show. Kris had won the coin toss and he chose to go last, which is always a safer bet. Round One: Adam Lambert, predictably, sang “Mad World”, which was his best performance on the season. But unfortunately it fell a little short in comparison to the first go at the song, leaving Kris to pick up the pieces with his piano accompanied choice of “Ain’t No Sunshine”. Kris’ smooth vocal and new arrangement…
