Q&A: Nash Overstreet
All week Listen! It’s Vetrano has brought you Cassadee Pope related content to celebrate the release of her new single “I Am Invincible,” which was officially released on Apple Music this morning. Today, I’m sharing my interview with the song’s co-writer Nash Overstreet. Overstreet is no stranger to hit music. His band Hot Chelle Rae won the American Music Award for Best New Artist in 2011, had a string of hits including their single “Tonight Tonight” and toured around the globe with Demi Loavto, Taylor Swift and more. Now working on his own solo music and celebrating the inevitable success of Pope’s “I Am Invincible,” Nash is ready for another…

Alexis Ryan Reads Poetry
It’s Thursday, so that means it’s time for another edition of Listen! It’s Vetrano‘s weekly web series. This week’s video is exciting because you get to meet my fabulous and talented friend Alexis Ryan. Alexis is a jack of all trades –fitness guru, loyal friend and burlesque beauty— who’s always up for a laugh. Those that know her, know of her special ability to deliver dramatic retellings of events, articles and stories. It was over the Fourth of July weekend that the new “Alexis Reads” series was born, when Ryan showed up with a poem that her mother had found in an old notebook from her childhood. My group of friends roared with…

Music Monday: Ultimate Cassadee Pope Collection
Last week, Listen! It’s Vetrano launched the new Music Monday feature on the blog, which gives me a chance to share my favorite tunes and collections of music with my readers. Last Monday’s playlist included my picks for the hottest songs of the summer [listen to that here]. This week, to celebrate the release of Cassadee Pope‘s new single “I Am Invincible,” I’ve compiled the ultimate collection of Cassadee Pope music — that every fan should have on repeat all week long, until the release of her new song. That’s not all though. As most of you know, Cassadee is one of my dearest friends and so that’s why she’s taking over Listen!…

I Licked a Donut On Vacation
Just because I was on summer vacation the last few weeks didn’t mean the world of pop culture and entertainment news slowed down. The Listen! It’s Vetrano‘s web series returns to YouTube today with an inside look at my vacation and everything I missed in pop culture, including Ariana Grande‘s donut licking, anti-American mishap, Caitlyn Jenner‘s Vanity Fair debut, marriage equality (!!!) and what I’ve been reading on break (spoiler alert: Joey Graceffa‘s new book In Real Life: My Journey to a Pixelated World). You can watch the video above to see my take on the events that has everyone talking, but I do want to note one thing before you watch. The episode was recorded and edited…

Caitlyn Jenner: A Brave New Woman
Today, the Listen! It’s Vetrano web series returns to YouTube with a look at my summer vacation and what I missed in pop culture since my absence from the video platform. In the video, which was recorded before last night’s live telecasted EPSY Awards, I address Caitlyn Jenner‘s transition from Bruce to Caitlyn very lightly, so as to not upset any of my viewers. However, after last night’s speech and seeing so much hate spewing on the internet following, I have to take a stand. No one, not even others in the transgender community, can understand what Caitlyn felt last night before taking that stage. That platform. A woman, barely emerging into…

Back To Reality: How To Recover from Vacation
After a three week vacation, soaking up the Destin, Florida sun, eating fancy and delicious foods, drinking my weight in booze and enjoying summer festivities, I returned to work mode this week. Let me tell you, nothing smacks you in the face quite like getting “back to reality.” Well except perhaps those Housewives who literally smack each other in the face on their reality shows. Waking up before 10 a.m., sweating through an hour of cardio at the gym and answering emails all day can really be a buzz kill. It’s a sad truth, but most of us cannot stay on a perma-vacation –unless you’re somehow a part of the Kardashian empire– and…

Music Monday: Summer Songs 2015
I’m back from summer vacation (more on that in this Thursdays new video)! And while it’s been rough trying to tear my relaxed and tanned body from bed and back to reality this morning, I am excited to be back to the Listen! It’s Vetrano family. In the next couple of weeks, I will be introducing a number of new features on the site that I think you’ll enjoy and that will expand our growing family. One of the newest additions is Music Mondays, my weekly playlist of curated music to keep you jamming all week long. This week, in honor of my long beach vacation and days sitting pool side…

Nashville Notables: Cary Barlowe
There’s a large group of unsung heroes in Nashville. A grouping of talented people who often get ignored by mainstream press and get lost behind blinding paparazzi flash bulbs. Those people? Songwriters. Songwriters are one of the most charming and interesting parts of Music City. After all, they built this city and are likely responsible for the city’s nickname. So, in an effort to bring those talented storytellers to the forefront –maybe even for the first time– Listen! It’s Vetrano introduces the Songwriter Spotlight, an interview feature with some of the biggest names you may not know… but absolutely should. I kick off the series with one of the nicest and most fun…

Q&A: Sugar & the Hi Lows
When Amy Stroup and Trent Dabbs started writing together regularly, they knew they were creating something special, but they didn’t expect the magic that eventually paired them for the throwback-inspired duo Sugar & the Hi Lows. On the eve of the duo’s sophomore album release, I got to chat with the Nashville-based singer-songwriters about how they came together, being on the road with Kacey Musgraves and which songs of the High Roller mean the most. Q&A: Sugar & the Hi Lows Chris Vetrano: You both have your own solo projects and have seen a reasonable amount of success with your continued solo projects. Why did you decide to team up for the Sugar & the Hi-Lows project?…
