Idol Updates
It seems everywhere you turn these days there’s an Idol alum in your path, mostly because that’s the truth. About to enter its 9th season, American Idol, has run through some of America’s best talent and with each season it seems more and more of the contestants go on to be winners, despite their loss on the reality program, leaving the majority of our playlists, car stereos, and download logs to include some Idol association somewhere. This will be illustrated at this year’s American Music Awards, airing November 22nd on ABC, when Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, and Adam Lambert will all take the stage to perform their latest hits…

Oops! She Did It Again
In 2005, the world watched as a new country diva was born on the fourth season finale of American Idol. The first country star to come from the now juggernaut series has gone on to become not only the most successful Idol winner, but has become one of today’s biggest selling acts in music. Along side her reality competition title, Underwood has broken a number of industry records, won countless awards, including her reign as Female Vocalist of the Year, and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry only three years after her Idol win. Her successful run capped off earlier this year when she took home the Academy of…

Falling Back and Playing On
Hey all! Did you turn your clocks back an hour?! We are just two short days away from the release of Carrie Underwood’s third full length album! Play On is already doing quite well in pre-sales and has created quite a bit of hype with the release of one new track on iTunes each week up to it’s release. Carrie also took to her vlog to chat about the released tracks, “Mama’s Song”, “Temporary Home”, and “Undo It”. I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of the album last week and am excited to share my thoughts with all of you on the eve of the album’s release.…

Countdown to Play On
The countdown is on until America’s sweetheart, Carrie Underwood, releases her third LP, Play On. To kick off the release, the country cutie has teamed with iTunes to release a new track from the album each week until its November 3rd release. This week, iTunes released the touching track dedicated to her mother, appropriately titled “Mama’s Song”. On October 20th, the single “Temporary Home” will hit the digital download store, followed by “Undo It” on the 27th of the same month, which will bring us a week out to the release of Play On. Don’t forget to pick up the latest single from Carrie, “Cowboy Casanova”, as well as the…

Play On and On and On and On
Carrie Underwood will release her new album, Play On, on November 3rd and it will feature 13 brand new tracks from the country diva. The album is expected to be her most versatile to date, with collaborations including Max Martin, Kara DioGuardi, NeYo and many more rock, pop, and r&b writers than are typically found on a country disc. The 13-track set will also feature a song with the winners of the reality show The Next Great American Band, Sons of Sylvia. I guess the reality star winners have to stick together and help each other out. If you just can’t wait until November for more Carrie, you can check…

Carrie Adds New Accolades to the List
First up, plagiarizer? It seems Underwood’s new single, “Cowboy Casanova“, is being accused of sounding awfully familiar to a song by an unknown country lady, Brittany McDonald. Apparently “Casanova”‘s co-writer, Brett James, met with McDonald and heard her song, “Bang!”, and loved it. Months later the Carrie single hit the airwaves. I admit that they have similar takes on the upbeat country song, but it is certainly not like Carrie pulled a Beyonce on Kelly Clarkson’s “Already Gone”. Take a listen to “Bang!” and weigh in. It’s unfortunate that they sound similar, but the controversy hasn’t stopped her fans. “Cowboy Casanova” is already the fastest selling single of Carrie’s career,…

While Kelly & Co. were being Divas for VH1’s special, Carrie Underwood was busy being inducted into the Oklahoma Country Music Hall of Fame. At the event, Carrie took the stage to sing her new single, “Cowboy Casanova”, for the first time. Check out the flawless performance.

Miss Divas?
On Thursday, VH1 revived its “Divas” series with Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Adele, Miley Cyrus, Jordin Sparks, Leona Lewis, and hosted by Paula Abdul. Now, my first thought was they needed to see a definition of diva because the line up was a little mixed. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Jordin Sparks, but a diva?? Not quite. She needs about 10 more power ballads and at least one more headlining tour, when she isn’t opening for Britney Spears. It was quite heavy with Idol alums, especially with Abdul hosting the evening’s events. I would have gladly traded Sparks for the country diva, Carrie Underwood. But, I guess…

Only A Matter Of Time
So, it’s here! I got a first listen to Carrie Underwood’s new single, “Cowboy Casanova”, which I absolutely loved!! The song, an uptempo-foot stomper, will sure to be the hottest song of the fall. On Underwood’s previous two albums, she has released ballads as her lead singles, while this time she definitely shows off her inner Shania and pulls out a showstopper. Carrie, the current ACM Entertainer Of The Year, is gunning for that top stop again and she may just have it on lock with this new album. It is definitely shaping up to be one of excellence. And considering she is releasing it a day after my birthday…
