Artist To Watch: Matt Morris
If you haven’t heard the name Matt Morris, or found yourself jamming out to his tunes, you soon will. Matt, a resident of Denver, Colorado, is prepping the release of his debut album, titled “When Everything Breaks Open”. Coincidence? I think not. The soulful, pop tracks delivered on his first effort indicate that Matt is destined to break wide open. But this won’t be Morris’ first time in the spotlight. He got his start on The New Mickey Mouse Club (and there is plenty of footage to prove it), where he acted, sung, and danced his way into the hearts of many alongside Britney Spears, Keri Russell, Christina Aguilera, and…

So, what is the world of pop music talking about to ring in the new year? Starting with Underwood news, we’re excited to announce that Carrie will make her acting debut in an upcoming episode of How I Met Your Mother. Underwood will play Tiffany, “an enigmatic pharmaceutical sales rep and love interest” for lead character,…

Just A Dream
Yesterday Carrie Underwood’s rep confirmed the news that Mike Fisher, her boyfriend of a year, had proposed to the country cutie. Of course, this news devastates me, leading me to spend most of the night in a dark room, drinking a bottle of whiskey, and singing “Jesus Take The Wheel” on repeat. But, now I have emerged to bring you the first photo of the bling that blinded Carrie as she accepted the proposal. Quite a Christmas present, I guess. No date or details have yet been planned for the big day, which I guess is a glimmer of hope, but it’s rumored Carrie will take her fateful walk down…

Video: Avatar’s "I See You"
Leona Lewis provides the theme song to the upcoming blockbuster event, Avatar. And while the track is no “My Heart Will Go On”, I am sure that producers are already clearing Leona’s schedule so she can take the stage at the Academy Awards to perform the song, “I See You”. I’ve seen multiple trailers for this film and I am still unsure what it’s about, but I guess I’ll check it out when it arrives in theaters. In the meantime, here’s the theme song’s music video with the lovely and talented Leona Lewis.

Whatya Want From Him?
Adam Lambert appeared on The Tonight Show last night, singing his new single “Whatya Want From Me”. It looks like he’s finally stepping out of the “AMA” backlash’s shadow and can move on with the promotion of his new album For Your Entertainment, which is in stores now.

The Video and Backlash
In the wake and backlash of Adam Lambert’s controversial performance at the AMA’s his label has released the video to accompany his first single, “For Your Entertainment”. The video, however, features no man-on-man action, leaving me to wonder why he didn’t just opt for a similar performance to mimic the video – it would have given him more range to showcase his talented vocals. Take a look and leave your thoughts. In related news, Lambert has been canceled from his GMA this morning. ABC released a statement yesterday saying they didn’t want to take any chances that early in the morning on a performance that might resemble Sunday night’s. CBS,…

AMAze Balls!
Sunday night’s American Music Awards coverage might have been trumped by Adam Lambert’s over-the-top performance, but if you missed the awards then you missed some great performances. So in Idol Insider fashion, here is all my highlights – and if you’re looking for Whitney’s “comeback”, look elsewhere as I give it the most over-hyped performance of the evening. Janet Jackson’s Medley of Hits, including her touching rendition of “Together Again”: Kelly Clarkson beautifully delivers her latest single, “Already Gone”: Jay Z and Alicia Keys kill it on Empire State of Mind: Carrie Underwood leaves me speechless with another incredible performance of “Cowboy Casanova”: Lady GaGa is weird and creepy in…
