New Year, New Idol Insider
It’s a new decade – welcome to 2010 – and Idol Insider decided it was time for a new look, layout, and plan for this blog. I am still going to report on the latest pop music news, but I will also be reviewing some of the newest releases, introducing you to new artists, and, of course, keeping you up to date on all things Idol. I am sure that 2010 is going to be a great year for music and I am eager to share all of it with you. Happy New Year, friends – may this next decade be full of greatness!

Just A Dream
Yesterday Carrie Underwood’s rep confirmed the news that Mike Fisher, her boyfriend of a year, had proposed to the country cutie. Of course, this news devastates me, leading me to spend most of the night in a dark room, drinking a bottle of whiskey, and singing “Jesus Take The Wheel” on repeat. But, now I have emerged to bring you the first photo of the bling that blinded Carrie as she accepted the proposal. Quite a Christmas present, I guess. Video: Avatar’s "I See You"
Leona Lewis provides the theme song to the upcoming blockbuster event, Avatar. And while the track is no “My Heart Will Go On”, I am sure that producers are already clearing Leona’s schedule so she can take the stage at the Academy Awards to perform the song, “I See You”. I’ve seen multiple trailers for this film and I am still unsure what it’s about, but I guess I’ll check it out when it arrives in theaters. In the meantime, here’s the theme song’s music video with the lovely and talented Leona Lewis.

Adam Lambert appeared on The Tonight Show last night, singing his new single “Whatya Want From Me”. It looks like he’s finally stepping out of the “AMA” backlash’s shadow and can move on with the promotion of his new album For Your Entertainment, which is in stores now.

The Video and Backlash
In the wake and backlash of Adam Lambert’s controversial performance at the AMA’s his label has released the video to accompany his first single, “For Your Entertainment”. The video, however, features no man-on-man action, leaving me to wonder why he didn’t just opt for a similar performance to mimic the video – it would have given him more range to showcase his talented vocals. Take a look and leave your thoughts. In related news, Lambert has been canceled from his GMA this morning.
