First Listen: Lana Del Rey "Paradise" EP
It’s no secret that Born To Die from the controversial newcomer Lana Del Rey is one of my favorite records of the year. And when I learned that a re-release of the record -with NINE additional tracks- was on its way earlier in the year, I could hardly wait for more from the self-proclaimed gangsta Nancy Sinatra. The “Paradise Edition” of Del Rey’s successful debut drops November 13th, but if you’re like me (and I know a few of you who are), you just can’t wait a minute more… and who could blame you? Well Christmas (or rather November 13th) has come early because now you don’t have to wait until then to…

Wednesday Wrap Up: Is Adam Lambert a Queen?
A lot happening in the music world this week, but today’s biggest story caused quite a stir on the net this morning. It was reported earlier today that Adam Lambert, the controversial vocalist who emerged from American Idol a few years ago, was coming to to be legendary rock band Queen‘s new frontman. On the heels of Lambert’s new solo single and a sophomore album in the works, it seemed it couldn’t be true. And later, Lambert confirmed it was in fact untrue. His quote had been used by a “sneaky” reporter to build a story. More on that story, as well as the Top 5 stories of the…

Wednesday Wrap Up: No Del-Rey About It
Ok, so as promised yesterday I am going to stop – er, try to stop – posting about the songstress who as of late has made the front page of Tragic Kingdom and taken up lots of space in your RSS Feed. So… I won’t mention that her album hit number one more than 11 countries upon its digital release and I won’t explain that critics are beginning to back track on their post-SNL tongue lashings. No, I refuse to do it. Instead however, there’s lots of other relevant news going on this week in music… right?Check out the top 5 stories of the week: 5. Elton John wages war…

Lana Del Rey Day – And Then I’ll Stop, I Promise
Okay, so clearly I’ve been drinking the Kool-Aid, albeit Pabst Blue Ribbon flavored and named after today’s new indie Queen Lana Del Rey. Lana Del R-aid. Anybody? I think it has a nice ring to it. The long awaited debut from the internet sensation drops today. Born To Die has already hit the number one spot on iTunes Top Albums chart in 17 countries and continues to climb in others. Looks like the haters and nay-sayers are eating their words right about now. To celebrate the release, check out these new videos of Del Rey performing cuts from her debut. It’s no Saturday Night Live, but in this case that…

Review: Lana Del Rey "Born To Die"
It seems that everyone has an opinion about the viral sensation that few knew existed a month ago, Lana Del Rey. And while many of her critics slam her for the awkward and off-putting performance she delivered on Saturday Night Live a couple of weeks ago, the fact remains that she’s one of the most talked about artists that have emerged seemingly – and arguably – out of obscurity. But just days from the release of her debut album Born To Die, any press is good press. As her single bounces into the Top 10 this week and the album predicted to do the same, music insiders are on the…

First Listen: Lana Del Rey "Without You"
With just days from the release of Born To Die, the debut album from Lana Del Rey, another track surfaces on Tragic Kingdom. Serving as a preview of what’s to come from the Deluxe Version of the beautiful debut from the singer, enjoy this first listen of “Without You”. A haunting melody swells around lyrics, that fill the singer’s Twitter bio (Everything I want I have/ Money, notoriety and Rivieras/ I even think I found God/ In the flash bulbs of your pretty cameras). A love story that so desperately calls to be included in feature films, the track is reason alone to spring for the Deluxe Version of the…
