First Listen: Lana Del Rey "Young & Beautiful"
The Great Gatsby soundtrack, which is available for pre-order now, has musical genius written all over it with original tunes from artists like will.i.am, Florence & the Machine, a new solo track from Fergie and a Beyoncé cover of Amy Winehouse‘s “Back to Black”. The lead single from the highly anticipated film’s soundtrack is a deliciously haunting track delivered by the Lana Del Rey., who may just have been born for this performance. The songstress, who refers to her style as “Hollywood Sadcore,” may be the most obvious yet brilliant choice for the Baz Luhrmann film. Listen to “Young & Beautiful” now below and pre-order the soundtrack now on iTunes to get the…

Take 5: Josiah Leming
Before Josiah Leming hit the road for his 75+ city ‘Listen Close Tour’, I sat down with the singer to chat about his music, life on the road and what’s next. Then, once we got the traditional stuff out of the way, I asked him to Take 5 and give us the dirt on 5 things unrelated to his music. Take 5 with Josiah Leming1. What is your go-to karaoke tune? When was the last time you performed it? Take Me Home, Country Roads – John Denver. Hmm..November 2012? Somewhere around then. 2. What’s the cheesiest reality TV show you’re afraid to admit you watch, or have watched? Cheesiest? Hmm…..…

Listen! It’s Vetrano: When Demi Lovato Attacks…
Listen! It’s Vetrano! And I’ve got a guilty pleasure that I can hide no more! It’s probably no surprise that Demi Lovato‘s ginormous single “Give Your Heart A Break” may have struck a minor chord with V for Vetrano. (long pause, head down) Ok fine, I turned it up and sang along at the top of my lungs every time that track was on the radio — which was often, and by often I mean playing on my iPod. While I typically can’t stand those songs that find their way into “heavy rotation,” Lovato managed to never grow old. But when news of her new single and a new album…

Video Premiere: Five Knives, "Messin’ With My Mind"
Nashville’s latest success story, Five Knives, debuted their hot new video “Messin’ With My Mind” on MTVu this morning. The clip also landed on MTV’s Buzzworthy following its premiere. No surprise though, seeing that the band is on the road on the MTV Artist to Watch Tour with Twenty One Pilots. The single is the second from the electro-punk rockers EP The Rising and is my favorite tune to rock out to when I’m feeling aggressive. But you’ll have to download the track on the band’s website (or right here on Tragic Kingdom) because MTV’s version of the single comes overly-censored. So censored infact, a reference to popping pills gets…

Take 5: Tyler Ward
We all love to know what inspires our favorite stars and want to know what – or who – is behind the lyrics of our favorite songs. But you can read about that any ol’ place, right? V for Vetrano gets you all the answers to the questions you never wanted to know (but maybe secretly do). So flip your flops and take a load off cause we’re about to Take 5 with YouTube star Tyler Ward. Oh, and if you missed my full interview with the internet sensation, check it out here. Take 5 w/ Tyler Ward 1. If you were stranded on a deserted island without food or…

Video Premiere: Hot Chelle Rae "Hung Up"
The Nashville-formed pop band Hot Chelle Rae is gearing up for the release of their third studio record, which is expected to drop later this year. The lead single “Hung Up” hit radio back in February and has been working it’s way into the ears of their fans ever since. The boys have traveled all over the globe, opening for acts like Taylor Swift, Cher Lloyd and Lil’ Jon and seem poised for global domination. If the new single is any indication, the boys new record will follow the lead of their hits “I Like It Like That” and their smash hit “Tonight, Tonight” with catchy, sing-a-long choruses. The video…

What The GIF? Vol. 3
Yep, it’s that time again. If you’re not as obsessed with the GIF sitch as me, then you might be thinking… And that’s okay with me, but seriously What the GIF? How could you not love this week’s biggest headlines told by some high-larious GIFs? Let’s see if I can win you over with this week’s Top 10 — sometimes over exaggerated — headlines. #10 – Even Nicki Minaj’s unusual antics can’t save American Idol‘s ratings as they hit a series low. #9 – Demi Lovato will return to judges panel for Season 3 of The X Factor, but without Britney will it be the same? #8 – Spring Breakers…

Lana Del Rey Covers Leonard Cohen
It’s no secret that my heart beats to Lana Del Rey‘s drum (as illustrated by the variety of ways I tried to slip her name into a post over the last year). Today, she delivers a new video covering the Leonard Cohen classic “Chelsea Hotel No. 2” and proves that when it comes to singing, she can do anything. There’s nothing really more for me to say, other than thank you for this Lana! V for Vetrano needed this today. Watch the simple, yet beautiful video below.

Video Premiere: All Time Low "Somewhere In Neverland"
American punk rockers All Time Low dropped their new video for the single “Somewhere in Neverland” today on MTV. Although the channel no longer plays music videos on the reg, this clip is reminiscent of the TRL days (for those too young to know what that is, it’s a good thing). The single is from their album Don’t Panic, which is available now. The band, currently back from a worldwide tour, are taking a short break before they head back on the road with Pierce the Veil for a run of U.S. dates. Watch “Somewhere in Neverland” below now and download Don’t Panic on iTunes now!

Artist to Watch: Sol Cat
Would you believe me if I told you there was a new band with a cool sound that was worthy of your ears coming out of Nashville? Of course you would. And not only because Nashville was recently named the #1 music scene by Rolling Stone magazine. It’s no surprise considering the amount of talent oozing from this great city, so without further ado let me introduce to you to Music City’s latest noteworthy act Sol Cat. I got to sit down with a couple of the guys from the emerging rock band a few weeks ago to talk about their new album, new video (seen below) and where their name…

First Listen: Beyonce "Bow Down/ I Been On"
2013 is certainly shaping up to be a big one in music with new records coming from some of the biggest pop stars on the planet. Beyoncé, one of said stars, has been busy since her hot-as-fire Super Bowl performance and (boring) HBO documentary. Girl (Who Run the World) has been preparing for her new record and huge world tour. Today, the first single from the upcoming album, set to accompany the Mrs. Carter world tour, dropped. Fans seem to be on the fence about the track, as they took to Twitter to share their opinions. Listen to “Bow Down / I Been On” below now and share your thoughts. Is…
