Listen! It’s Vetrano: When Demi Lovato Attacks…
Listen! It’s Vetrano! And I’ve got a guilty pleasure that I can hide no more! It’s probably no surprise that Demi Lovato‘s ginormous single “Give Your Heart A Break” may have struck a minor chord with V for Vetrano. (long pause, head down)
Ok fine, I turned it up and sang along at the top of my lungs every time that track was on the radio — which was often, and by often I mean playing on my iPod. While I typically can’t stand those songs that find their way into “heavy rotation,” Lovato managed to never grow old. But when news of her new single and a new album surfaced, I dug my heels in the Nashville sand (I wish!) and refused to take a liking to anymore from the one-time Disney princess.
Well I’ll be damned if she didn’t go and do it again. (Would it be classless to insert a reference to Britney‘s “Oops! I Did It Again” here? #sorrynotsorry)
“Heart Attack” (co-written by Def Jam recording artist Nikki Williams) is everything you’d want in a Lovato single. It’s got a groove that makes you wanna shoulder shake and lyrics that are so corny yet catchy you can’t help feeling good about exiting a room “bouncing like a basketball.” Perhaps it’s the new “I’m Audi“? For those too young to get that reference you’re a reminder that while you’re Lovato’s target market and I should be ashamed of fanning out, I’m content with my secret Lovato love affair.
Demi, the singer’s fourth album, is expected to drop in May and will feature a track from another one of my guilty pleasures Cher Lloyd (!!!). Note: If you can’t find me after the record’s May release, I’ll probably be in search of some underground club where they play the record on repeat hoping to not get caught. Thank God I don’t have a mustache and a van!
