Meghan Linsey: More Than The Voice
When Meghan Linsey reemerged on our television screens this spring as a contestant on NBC’s latest season of The Voice, many balked at the singer’s decision to tryout for the singing series. Her resume already included a win on a reality singing competition, CMT’s Can You Duet, and three Top 20 singles with her country duo Steel Magnolia. But what many seemed to forget was that, though her previous endeavors in music were thrilling, she was starting this journey on the same playing field as the many others hoping to turn a chair. Sure, she may have been a seasoned television starlet with opportunities to tour with major acts, including Reba, Brad Paisley and even her Voice coach Blake Shelton, but…

All Hail M’Queen: Girl On The Road
Hey babes and lovers! It’s your girl, Anna M’Queen back for another installment of All Hail M’Queen, my monthly column for Listen! It’s Vetrano. Being in bands most of my life, I get questions all the time about what life is like as “the girl on the road,” especially with a group of guys. So, let me break it down. Being a girl on the road, there are several dilemmas that I face. They’re not necessarily about being a girl, but more about being the frontwoman of a traveling band. When it comes to packing, this can be one of the most stressful and tedious things I go through before hitting the…

Cassadee Pope Q&A
She was Listen! It’s Vetrano‘s first guest a few years ago; and now, Cassadee Pope, returns to the channel to take your questions. You submitted the questions you’ve been dying to ask the “Wasting All These Tears” singer on Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #CassadeeListens. Then, our team –which consists of me and Bugsy, the long-haired Chihuahua– compiled them to prepare for our Memorial Day sit down with The Voice winner. We got to as many of the the questions as we could, and she promised to be back soon to take more. Didn’t see your question answered in the video? There’s quite a bit of footage that got left on the cutting room…

Nashville Notables: Sloane Scott
Going As Far As She Wants, As Fast As She Wants The epicenter for the new music business, the seed of healthcare and home to wildly successful startups, Nashville is more than its country music roots that earned it the title of “Music City” in 1950. At the center of the entrepreneurial growth of the city sits the 22,000 square-foot INK building housing FLO {thinkery}, where brands and artists like Google, Under Armour and Jake Owen are among its roster of clientele. Inside that office, and perhaps holding up the whole damned thing with her high-heeled boots, is a bold, courageous leader named Sloane Scott. I arrived at the FLO office on a…

Q&A: Bandit Heart
For fans of the CW series Reign, last night’s ending may have struck a chord. A song that set the tone for a pivotal ending, leading the series to its weekly conclusion. The song acting as the backdrop? “Don’t Let Me Go,” new single from Bandit Heart, the latest project from Nashville’s song-maker Troy Akers. No stranger to the music scene, Akers has spent a good portion of the last year working on honing his songwriting talent, which led to a cut on Amy Stroup‘s record called “Dark Runs Out” and the title track of Neulore‘s new album. Most recognizably though, Akers is one-third of the pop act The CO, who delivered their last full length album…
