Alexis Reads: Fifty Shades Darker
Last month, you were introduced to my friend Alexis Ryan when she joined my Listen! It’s Vetrano YouTube channel for the new feature “Alexis Reads.” Every month, Ryan will get into character to present a fun take on your favorite stories, articles, poetry and more. This month, Alexis takes you inside the mind of Anastasia Steele when she breaks out everyone’s current bedside obsession Fifty Shades Darker. Ever imagine Christian Grey with a heavy southern drawl? Well, wonder no more when Alexis puts on her interpretive thinking cap and delivers the character’s cheese-ball romance in a way that Dakota Johnson & Jamie Dornan could never accomplish in the trilogy’s movie adaptations. Watch “Alexis Reads… Fifty Shades…

Music Monday: Break Up Songs
One of the newest additions to the weekly Listen! It’s Vetrano content calendar is Music Mondays, a playlist of V for Vetrano curated music to keep you jamming all week long. This week, I’ve compiled my picks of break up songs that can help you stop thinking about him or her and can get lost in the music. Have a box of Kleenex handy for this one though because it ranges from angry anthems to sappy love songs, which are sure to help you get through the emotional rollercoaster that comes along with a parting of ways. LIV’s Break Up Songs 1. Kelly Clarkson – Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You) 2. Beyonce – Irreplaceable 3. The Script – The Man Who Can’t…

Songwriter Spotlight: Nicolle Galyon
In 2012, Nicolle Galyon was one of the fresh faces (and voices) on NBC’s mega-series The Voice, where she honed her performance chops on Team Adam [Levine]. Just three years later –after her marriage to songwriter Rodney Clawson and the birth of their two children– Nicolle is one of Nashville’s most sought after new talents. The talented songbird has already earned two number one singles with Keith Urban‘s “We Were Us” and Miranda Lambert‘s “Automatic,” which also scored the songwriter her first Grammy Award nomination and a win for Song of the Year at the 2014 Country Music Awards (CMA’s). With a catalog packed full of current and future hits, Galyon is one of the unstoppable forces in…

Bernstein Cares: First Things First
Hey everyone, Sara Bernstein here! Before we begin, let me just say how absolutely humbled and honored I am to have been invited into the wonderful Listen! It’s Vetrano family, and how excited I am to get to share something that I love so much with all of you. I want to dedicate my first post here on LIV to my story [you can read my bio here] to give y’all a little insight into who I am, how I got here, and why I’m so passionate about healthy living. I was only 17 years old when I left home and moved across the country to go to college in the big, oftentimes…

Nashville Notables: Arnold Myint
Last night, the nation tuned in to see Nashville chef Arnold Myint “cook for his life” as one of the final three finalists in Food Network‘s search for the Next Food Network Star series. A twist in the competition, which brought back previous contender Dom, ultimately left Arnold out of the mix for the final challenge of creating a pilot for his series. Though his time on the show has ended, he’s a clear talent and season frontrunner, so it wouldn’t surprise me if Arnold’s phone started ringing to share his “hint of Miynt” with us again very soon. Already a Nashville treasure, Myint is the brains and talent behind three Nashville staples:…

Music Monday: Feys the Music Summer Jams
Joe Feys is Nashville designer and Listen! It’s Vetrano contributor, regularly writing his column ‘Feys Lift.’ This week Feys steps into the driver seat of ‘LIV’ regular series Music Monday to share his favorite summer music. Summertime is important, especially for music. So when Chris asked me to guest blog for this week’s Music Monday, I wanted to pick a list of tunes, both new and old, to ensure you have all the right notes for the next few months. Whether at the pool, on the couch with the puppies, at the Galleria with the most popular boy you met at summer camp, or in the car with the windows down, you…

Introducing: Sara Bernstein
It’s been a minute since Listen! It’s Vetrano has welcomed a new writer and contributor to our growing family, but today I am excited to welcome Sara Bernstein to the site as our resident health and fitness guru. Sara will share her unique voice on health, food, beauty and more in her monthly column “Bernstein Cares,” which will debut next week on the site. Bernstein was raised in beautiful Boulder, Colorado, which is, among other things, known for consistently topping the charts each year as one of –if not the— fittest cities in the country. She grew up skiing and snowboarding in the winter, waterskiing and going to camp in the mountains in…

Feys Lift: Starch Smartch
Dieting is probably the worst possible necessity of the season, but I have finally come to terms with it. Well… not all of it, but most of it. There are certain things we can all cut out of our daily meals and snacks and not miss at all. Especially when there’s some easy to prepare starch alternatives that are easy on the hips and don’t sacrifice the flavor. Here are three that I have created to mimic some of our favorite treats and will leave you saying “Ohmigah.” Baked Kale chips are better than potato chips. Seriously Cut your kale into bite-sized pieces and evenly cover in olive oil or vegetable oil. Salt…
