The Grapevine
A lot of news to report in the world of music and I’m pleased to say a lot of it is in the name of charity. With the devastation continuing to overtake Haiti, celebrities across the board are putting their names, brands, and money towards the cause. For music fans, that means we’ve got a lot of great charitable music to buy. The Hope For Haiti compilation, live recordings from the telethon, is the biggest selling album this week, also making it the highest selling charity CD of all time. Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris‘ version of the song, “Hallelujah” from the telethon is the most downloaded song on iTunes…

Miss Divas?
On Thursday, VH1 revived its “Divas” series with Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Adele, Miley Cyrus, Jordin Sparks, Leona Lewis, and hosted by Paula Abdul. Now, my first thought was they needed to see a definition of diva because the line up was a little mixed. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Jordin Sparks, but a diva?? Not quite. Update
We reported this morning that Britney Spears would put on a rare televised performance at The Teen Choice Awards this weekend (to air on Monday), but it seems that even though the 30 promo spot (below) says she’s performing, that may not be the case. It is now being reported that Ms. Spears will be accepting a “special” award for all of her accomplishments rather than perform. That seems a little misleading and we’re not loving it. MTV also announced that they have not officially finalized a Spears performance for this September’s VMA’s. What is going on?? We need Brit-Brit back on TV!! In the meantime, we can’t help but…

Obsessed With "Obsessed"
Mariah Carey’s new video for her brand new single, “Obsessed”, hit the Internet this morning. The song, which is rumored to be about her on-going feud with rapper Eminem, will be the lead single from her new album titled Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. The video for the song pokes fun at an “Obsessed” fan that follows Mariah around in Eminem-style garb. The obsessed fan, while male, is played Mariah herself, adding to the already comedic clip. Check it out – I love it!
