As MADtv made its last appearance on Saturday night, big things were happening over at the SNL season finale last week. Will Ferrell served as host, while Green Day played two new tracks from their fantastic new album. And while Ferrell is a veteran cast member of the late night sketch show, he has become a bon-a-fide super star. My all time favorite moment on Wednesday night’s Idol finale is posted for all to see below. I do think that Kara went a little overboard in order to prove her point, but “Bikini Girl” had it coming. Kris Allen Is An American Idol
Congratulations to Kris Allen, our newest American Idol, on his surprising win last night! Both Kris and Adam brought some real talent to the long running reality series and both deserved to be there last night. And while Allen won the title, both Kris and Adam have released the single, “No Boundaries” to iTunes today (at press time Lambert was beating Kris on the top downloads chart), showcasing that both are embarking on some successful careers. Idol Finale Recap
As the final Idol hopefuls took the stage last night, American knew they were in for a treat when Adam Lambert and Kris Allen faced off in one of the best finales in the history of the show. Kris had won the coin toss and he chose to go last, which is always a safer bet. Round One: Adam Lambert, predictably, sang “Mad World”, which was his best performance on the season. But unfortunately it fell a little short in comparison to the first go at the song, leaving Kris to pick up the pieces with his piano accompanied choice of “Ain’t No Sunshine”. TONIGHT: Idol Finale
Tonight, watch as underdog, Kris Allen, takes on the Season 8 front runner, Adam Lambert (aka Glambert) in the Idol showdown. Tonight’s episode will pit the two against each other, both performing three songs. The first round will feature the contestants favorite performances of the season. My guess is Kris will go with last week’s “Heartless”, while Lambert will likely choose “Mad World”. The second song choice will be that of ex-Idol producer, Simon Fuller. When The Paradiso Girls stopped in Denver for a performance at Club Beta, you know I had to be there. It was a beautiful Sunday night and one for the history books as far as partying is concerned. The club wasn’t packed due to some unfortunate promotion, but it didn’t stop me from enjoying the night and these lovely ladies. Idol Update
As you may have noticed, I gave up my Idol recaps – mainly due to the fact that the show has become a little bit of a joke this year. Don’t get me wrong, the contestants are better than ever, but the judges banter, Ryan’s staircase, the news that the bottom three are not “accurate”, and the overly hyped pre-taped performances each week. It’s just a little sad that this show has become more generic than ever. And why are the judges all over the magazine covers, rather than the contestants? Does anyone really care if Paula and Kara are feuding? I certainly don’t and I since my recaps started…
