America Wants To Stay
On Wednesday night, we watched Jason Aldean stun audiences with his powerful vocal performance and on stage chemistry with global pop sensation Kelly Clarkson, when the duo took the stage at the 44th Annual CMA’s. The Tragic Kingdom favorites performed the new single from Aldean’s latest album, My Kinda Party, entitled “Don’t You Wanna Stay”. Yesterday, Aldean’s label, Broken Bow Records, rushed the songs release and made the song available due to a flood of requests from radio stations across the country. “If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my years in the record business, it is always give radio what they want,” said SVP Promotion Carson James. “Our entire…

CMA Recap
Last night, Nashville’s finest gathered for the Country Music Association Awards, or more widely known as the CMA’s. The evening was jam packed with great performances, big wins, and huge stars. The night, though, belonged to Miranda Lambert, who won four awards, including Top Female Vocalist. And in a fitting surprise, Lambert’s fiancee, Blake Shelton took home Top Male honors, which Shelton said was “34 years in the making”. The biggest award of the night went to Brad Paisley, who got emotional while accepting his Entertainer of the Year trophy. This year’s performances were incredible, but the my pick for the best of the night belonged to our featured artist,…

It Takes Two
Tragic Kingdom’s featured artist of the month, Jason Aldean, is set to take the stage tonight at the Country Music Awards live from Nashville, performing his new single “Don’t You Wanna Stay”. When Aldean was recording his new (hit) album, My Kinda Party, he knew that he wanted to record his new single as a duet with a powerhouse diva, but it was his top two choices that really stood out – proving this country boy is my kind of people. “Carrie Underwood was one of them, and [the other was] Kelly Clarkson,” Aldean said. “I’m a fan of both of their voices… but they’re both really different. Kelly [has…

Country’s Fresh Face
The fresh faced Carrie Underwood has inked a two-year deal with facial cleanser, Olay, to be the company’s new spokesmodel. The print ads (seen above) will begin rotating immediately, while the television campaign will debut during the Country Music Awards tomorrow night, which Underwood will also serve as host. Joe Arcuri, VP of Procter & Gamble, said in a statement: “The partnership with Carrie Underwood is all about reaching women like her, ages 25 to 35, who are not currently using Olay now, or really any other skin care brand, because they think the products are very focused on anti-aging. We believe this campaign will bring these women into the…

Martina McBride Joins Republic Nashville
It was announced this morning at a press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame that Martina McBride has joined the Republic Nashville roster, which includes The Band Perry, Eli Young Band, Jaron And The Long Road To Love, Sunny Sweeney and, Boulder, Colorado-based, SHEL. McBride announced the departure from her longtime label, Sony Music Nashville, in September and many speculated that Big Machine Records would be her new home. This came just after news broke earlier in the year that she had parted ways with her longtime manager, Bruce Allen, and signed with Morris Management’s Clint Higham. Higham and his team are those responsible for Kenny Chesney’s incredible…

Honey, I’m Home in Vegas
The world waited patiently to see what Shania Twain‘s next move would be after learning whose bed her husband’s, boots had been under (hint: it wasn’t hers). Hopeful fans crossed their fingers that the singer, who hasn’t had a new record out since 2004, would pour herself into her music. Unfortunately for those fans, there hasn’t been any new tunes from the lady of country, who’s hits include “Man! I Feel Like A Woman”, “Honey I’m Home”, and “Any Man of Mine”. But with her divorce to music producer, Mutt Lange, finalized in June, it looks like Twain is finally ready to move on. Literally. Word is quietly starting to…

Country On Top
This week, music fans cashed in on the country craze, especially with the release of the newest effort from this month’s featured artist, Jason Aldean. The totals are still being counted, but it looks like Aldean’s My Kinda Party is projected to move about 200,000 copies in its first week (not a bad start), debuting at Billboard’s #2 spot. Taylor Swift‘s Speak Now will enjoy another week in the top position, projecting to move 350,000 in it’s second week. Also rounding out the top ten this week, it looks like Brad Paisley will land in that last spot with his greatest hits album, Hits Alive. Maybe it’s in preparation for this Wednesday’s…

Jason Aldean: My Kinda Party
On the eve of his album release, Tragic Kingdom introduces a new breed to our growing list of featured artists. He’s already sold 3.5 million records worldwide and has spent more time in the last 14 weeks at number one than any other country artist, but it wasn’t until I arrived in Nashville a couple months ago that I took notice of Jason Aldean. I was sitting at a friend’s house listening to one of the tracks from his latest effort, My Kinda Party, and it was clear that this country boy was more than another Nashville wannabe. In fact, this guy rocks. I got an advanced copy of the album…

The Country Can’t Wait
If it wasn’t apparent by my lack of updates recently, I should tell you that I have been quite busy. Following a very successful run in Denver, I decided (yes, the decision was mine) to move to Nashville. And since I’m now officially a resident of Music City, I am excited to introduce you to some of the incredible talent that this town has to offer. Besides the great music you can catch on any given night of the week, the random run ins with my new neighbors, Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, and the southern hospitality, Nashville is playing host to one of the biggest events in country music, the…
