Video Premiere: Tim McGraw "Highway Don’t Care"

They say what comes around, goes around. And by “they,” I’m sure you know I mean Justin Timberlake. The debut of Tim McGraw‘s new video for “Highway Don’t Care” seems to prove that popular lyric’s sentiment. You probably remember it wasn’t long ago that the young blonde country phenomenon known as Taylor Swift burst upon the music scene with her first single “Tim McGraw.” Now, with the addition of Keith Urban, the singer teamed up with the man she paid homage to years ago. The single off McGraw’s Two Lanes of Freedom record has been racing up the country charts and now, with the addition of a dramatic new video the single will…

    Artist to Watch: Elise Davis

Where most artists wear their heart on their sleeve, Elise Davis wears hers in her emotionally-packed voice. The Little Rock native is making waves in Nashville’s music scene after winning American Songwriter‘s “The Pub Contest” — a hefty publishing deal with HoriPro Entertainment — which was judged by artists like Holly Williams and Hunter Hayes earlier this month. The year-long deal will be the first venture into co-writing for the solo-singer, who has written all of her previous efforts, and was honored to have been selected for the opportunity. Often drawing comparisons to the likes of Emmylou Harris and Lucinda Williams, Davis’ music has captured the attention of more than just…

The sun is shining and the allergies are in full swing, which can only mean one thing: it’s May! I realize my updates have been few and far between lately, but I promise it’s not because I don’t love you all (that only applies to some of you).  The sun is shining, flowers are a bloom and there’s a new project being cooked up at V for Vetrano HQ (details coming soon). But I couldn’t let you go any longer without serving up another helping of What The GIF? With the nice weather, and my new project in full swing, I’m ready to get back into the routine of things…

First Listen: Lana Del Rey "Young & Beautiful"

The Great Gatsby soundtrack, which is available for pre-order now, has musical genius written all over it with original tunes from artists like will.i.am, Florence & the Machine, a new solo track from Fergie and a Beyoncé cover of Amy Winehouse‘s “Back to Black”. The lead single from the highly anticipated film’s soundtrack is a deliciously haunting track delivered by the Lana Del Rey., who may just have been born for this performance. The songstress, who refers to her style as “Hollywood Sadcore,” may be the most obvious yet brilliant choice for the Baz Luhrmann film. Take 5: Josiah Leming

Before Josiah Leming hit the road for his 75+ city ‘Listen Close Tour’, I sat down with the singer to chat about his music, life on the road and what’s next. Then, once we got the traditional stuff out of the way, I asked him to Take 5 and give us the dirt on 5 things unrelated to his music. Take 5 with Josiah Leming1. What is your go-to karaoke tune? When was the last time you performed it? Take Me Home, Country Roads – John Denver. Hmm..November 2012? Somewhere around then. 2. Listen! It’s Vetrano: When Demi Lovato Attacks…

Listen! It’s Vetrano! And I’ve got a guilty pleasure that I can hide no more! It’s probably no surprise that Demi Lovato‘s ginormous single “Give Your Heart A Break” may have struck a minor chord with V for Vetrano. (long pause, head down) Ok fine, I turned it up and sang along at the top of my lungs every time that track was on the radio — which was often, and by often I mean playing on my iPod. While I typically can’t stand those songs that find their way into “heavy rotation,” Lovato managed to never grow old. But when news of her new single and a new album…

Video Premiere: Five Knives, "Messin’ With My Mind"

Nashville’s latest success story, Five Knives, debuted their hot new video “Messin’ With My Mind” on MTVu this morning. The clip also landed on MTV’s Buzzworthy following its premiere. No surprise though, seeing that the band is on the road on the MTV Artist to Watch Tour with Twenty One Pilots. The single is the second from the electro-punk rockers EP The Rising and is my favorite tune to rock out to when I’m feeling aggressive. But you’ll have to download the track on the band’s website (or right here on Tragic Kingdom) because MTV’s version of the single comes overly-censored. So censored infact, a reference to popping pills gets…
