Danielle Bradbery’s ‘Heart of Dixie’
It’s been less than a month since 16-year old Danielle Bradbery was crowned the Season 4 winner of “The Voice,” but the upcoming country singer is set to release her debut single “Heart Of Dixie” next week. The single tells the story of a woman (not a girl), who leaves her dead end job, dead-beat husband and life behind in pursuit of a better life. Awfully grown up lyrical content for a 16-year old, who many predicted would be the female answer to Hunter Hayes. The fresh-faced teen’s first performance on a stage was her blind audition on the hit NBC series, so songwriting was no hold up in getting…

#FreeMusicFriday: Cadets
It’s that time again, #FreeMusicFriday! Last week, I introduced The Goodnight Darlings and their infectious new track “Propaganda” and this week I’ve got another new one fresh out of the gate. CADETS is a new project that pairs Ocean Is Theory‘s vocalist, Josh Williams, with emerging producer, Adam Smith. Since pairing up last year, the two have been working on their debut release and have already been tapped for remixes and collaborations with EDM / Kindergarten Records artist, Popeska, and their songs have landed in Jack Wills retail outlets throughout the UK. If you’re a fan of Depeche Mode, M83, Miike Snow or The National, you’re going to want to getcha…

Listen To Kanye West’s New Album ‘Yeezus’
Until today the highly anticipated new Kanye West record was pretty much a mystery. No traditional promotion, no lead single and no videos were set to hype the release of the rapper’s sixth studio album, Yeezus. The ego-maniacal rapper stayed fairly low key, as critics began drawing their own conclusions about what the new effort would deliver. But just like a miracle from the Baby “Yeezus” himself, the entire record finds its way online just days before the record’s release. That’s not it, though. Today, West is the most talked about man on the ‘net, as his daughter with celebrity socialite Kim Kardashian was born five weeks early… on the eve…

#FreeMusicFriday: The Goodnight Darlings
I am so stoked about this, you guys! As you know, there’s been some exciting new developments in the works for me and my little site that could… and more on the way. Today, though, I am excited to introduce and launch the very first #FreeMusicFriday! Every week, I’ll bring you a new track (or tracks) from new artists that will help kickstart your weekend and keep you grooving into the following work week. I couldn’t be more thrilled to kick things off with The Goodnight Darlings, the new energetic duo who are about to take flight with their new EP Doll Drums. The duo, Kat Auster (vocals) and Wilson Jaramillo (guitar,…

American Idol, Blake Shelton, Blog, CMA Fest, Entertainment, First Listen, Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, Nashville, Reba McEntire, Vince Gill
First Listen: Kelly Clarkson "Tie It Up"
America’s first Idol, Kelly Clarkson, who has had multiplatinum success with pop anthems and power ballads, is tapping into her southern roots with her latest single “Tie It Up.” The singer first hinted at a promising country career when she teamed up with her childhood idol – and future mother-in-law – Reba on the country legend’s Duets record. Since then, the Texas-native has teamed with Jason Aldean for their massive hit “Don’t You Wanna Stay” and with Vince Gill on the single “Don’t Rush,” which appeared on her Greatest Hits album last year. Earlier this month, Clarkson took a break from recording her upcoming Christmas record to take the stage at…

Harry Styles Heading In Another Direction?
For months rumors have been circulating that Harry Styles, one-fifth of the massive boy band One Direction, has been working on a solo project. Those rumors appeared to have been confirmed as a new single written by Styles and his rocker friend Sam McCarthy landed online over the weekend. The song immediately sent the band’s fans into a frenzy and breakup rumors swirled. The band’s rep insists that “Don’t Let Me Go” is single that Styles wrote for a One Direction project that was later rejected and shoots down rumors of a breakup or tension between the band. And while it’s inevitable that Styles will eventually pull a Timberlake and…

Britney Goes "Ooh La La" For The Smurfs
Britney Spears debuted her new single “Ooh La La” during On Air with Ryan Seacrest early this morning. Spears said she recorded the song, which is part of the new Smurfs sequel The Smurfs 2, for her sons – Sean Preston and Jayden James – who love the first film. The youngsters will also appear in the single’s video, which is expected to drop next week. While the song is something a little more kid-friendly than her previous efforts, Britney confirmed her new album, produced by Will.I.Am. is in the beginning stages and is expected to be more adult, during her interview with Seacrest. And while she wouldn’t confirm the…

Fifth Harmony’s Moves On From The X Factor
Last year, Simon Cowell and his team saw the potential in five individual girls who were auditioning for the second season of The X Factor USA. Those five girls – Dinah-Jane Hansen, Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Normani Hamilton and Lauren Jauregui – became Fifth Harmony on the series. Not unlike Cowell’s One Direction (who were similarly put together on the UK version of the series), these ladies struck an immediate chord with America as they sailed through to the season’s finale. Placing third, it wasn’t long after the show that Cowell snatched them up and put them to work on their debut. The release of their first record is still…

First Listen: The Civil Wars "The One That Got Away"
Nashville’s Cinderella story, The Civil Wars, were on top of their game: Grammy’s, praise from even the harshest critics and a hit album. Then, with very little notice, it was over. John Paul White and Joy Williams announced their hiatus late last year, which quickly spread, and it seemed the band who were about to secure their place in music history had ended. Earlier this year though, the band announced that their second album – the first on Sony Music – would indeed be released. And while fans and critics rejoiced, it was surely a question if the duo, who were clearly broken, would have the same chemistry that won…

First Listen: Lana Del Rey "Queen Of Disaster"
The pouty-mouthed songstress whose latest single “Young & Beautiful” is the standout track from The Great Gatsby soundtrack is at it again. After the rebooted deluxe release of Lana Del Rey‘s debut album Born To Die emerged last fall, rumors swirled that the self-proclaimed gangsta Nancy Sinatra was going to hang up her mic and focus on new projects – albeit her modeling career was one of them, after being named the face of both H&M and Jaguar (yes, really). Luckily for me, those rumors were the farthest thing from true as new tracks have emerged online. The first, “Queen of Disaster,” is said to be a track in consideration for her…
