New Pop Culture Podcast ‘The Gist’ Arrives With Over 100 Positive Reviews

    January 19, 2023 /

Listen! It’s Vetrano launches a weekly pop culture podcast Hi, it’s me, Chris Vetrano! As you should know by now, since you’re here and all, I am the Nashville-based Founder of Listen! It’s Vetrano. Up until today, this site was primarily an entertainment and lifestyle blog that I’ve been running for more than 12 years. I’ll pause for the applause. But today, I launched an extension of the brand. A project I dreamt up in 2015 and procrastinated my way to 2023 before making it a reality. My pop culture podcast, The Gist. The Gist is a weekly podcast focused on popular culture aimed at bringing the days of water…

Cassadee Pope Hits an All-Time High with ‘Thrive’

    October 15, 2021 /

Cassadee Pope is no stranger to breaking the rules and paving a path that’s uniquely her own. On her new album Thrive, Pope expertly combines musical genres of her past and present while firmly defining her future. The combination creates a new genre of music that Pope’s fans refer to as “y’allternative.” A combination of the pop-infused country formula introduced on her first two solo records and her punk-rock past fronting the band Hey Monday. Collaborating with seasoned and iconic talents from both of the genres that previously defined her, Thrive has something for everyone. The album includes features from Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, Lindsay Ell, and Third Eye Blind’s…

    11 Years Later

    July 27, 2021 /

As one chapter of life was coming to a close, I made a life-changing decision to pack up what I could and move from my hometown in Colorado to Nashville. I had no plan, no job, and no idea what I was doing. We had just wrapped the 10th Anniversary of The UMS, feeling both accomplished and exhausted. As we packed up what remained from that milestone, I packed up my car and what I could fit into my rented trailer and hit the road. ? Little did I know then that I was embarking on an 11-year adventure that would change my life in so many meaningful ways. From…

21 Things I Want to Do in ’21

    June 2, 2021 /

It’s 2021 and with Covid-19 almost behind us, here are 21 things I want to do now that the pandemic is over. Listen, the pandemic was long! It’s not over, but we do finally see the light at the end of the tunnel as U.S. mask mandates are lifted and travel plans are a go. After more than a year in lockdown, I’m getting my second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine shot today. I can’t wait! I was fearful of what the rushed-to-market vaccine would do long-term and originally thought I’d be late to the vaccine game. I’ve never had a flu shot after all. But after a year of…

5 Things: I’m Watching on TV During Quarantine

    November 17, 2020 /

Listen, quarantine has been rough. Every day feels like Groundhog Day. I go to my socially distant gym, work from my converted home office, cook dinner, watch some TV with my husband and pups, go to sleep, and then repeat… every single day. And while Hollywood has spent most of 2020 in shutdown mode, TV has managed to deliver some saving graces to this pandemic nightmare we’re living in. The Undoing This thrill-seeking who-done-it is easily the best thing on TV right now. Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant deliver major Emmy’s vibes in this HBO Max drama that has more twists and turns than a winding mountain freeway. Every few…

So, You Want to Start a Small Business?

    June 23, 2020 /

Listen, starting your own small business is scary. Taking a giant leap into the unknown and putting everything you’ve got on the line with the hopes that you’ll find freedom. Financial, personal, and professional freedom. *insert fist raising emoji* So, you’ve got the idea, you’ve got a game plan, and you’re ready to take the risk. But before you start strutting around town calling yourself an entrepreneur, you need to define your brand. How you brand your business can say a lot about the type of company you are starting, and it often dictates who will want to work with you. Which means that you’ll want to go about this process…

Priority Is Not A Plural Noun

    May 12, 2020 /

Listen, I get it. At the end of the year, we get so caught up with “priorities” and responsibilities that the holiday season brings… on top of our regular day-to-day tasks. Our growing to-do lists make us feel certifiably insane. Amirite?  Our engines are revving so loudly that we just keep nodding and smiling through the deafening sound of our own busy-ness! Gross! So, turn down the volume and give yourself permission to read some encouragement here and just breathe. First, I want you to remember how incredible of a life you’ve had so far. I know its not perfect, and neither is mine! You’re here though, you’ve made it this far. That deserves…

A week later and I’m still hungover with gratitu A week later and I’m still hungover with gratitude (and other stuff 🍸🤫) from the celebration and outpouring of love I received last week. Turning another year older sometimes brings me a sense of sadness, for reasons too deep for the ‘gram, but it also gives me time to celebrate the gifts in my life (friends, family, circumstances, a loving husband who is willing to stand in front of a whole restaurant to deliver a toast). It also gives me a chance to hit refresh and think about what I want and need from the new year ahead. That in itself is a gift.

To all who celebrated me, whether together or with your kind words, thank you. I’m ready to take on the last year of my 30’s because of your support. 40 🫣 here we come!

Billy Ocean’s “Caribbean Queen (No More Love o Billy Ocean’s “Caribbean Queen (No More Love on the Run)” was the number one song in the U.S. and this guy was born thirty-nine years ago today.

Maybe with a little more reluctance than years prior, I’m ready to take on the last year of my thirties. Ready to face the new challenges life has waiting ahead. But most of all, I’m looking forward to another year of celebrating the friendships, the memories, and the laughter that have gotten me this far. Thanks to everyone who has celebrated with me — this year and every year before.

We (sorta) surprised @joshuaalanr for his 40th birthday in Venice this weekend. What an incredible pleasure it was to see so many of his friends, whom I had heard stories of over the years, celebrate him and make new memories as we enjoyed his neighborhood. It’s always a blast when “Hooter” is in our lives and this weekend was no different. Ate a lot. Drank a lot. Laughed a lot.
