Ariana Grande Is A Dangerous Woman
Ariana Grande dropped her new single, “Dangerous Woman,” last night.
The sultry new single is the title track from the singer’s third album and the follow up to the poorly received debut song “Focus,” which came out late last year. Fans and critics slammed the highly anticipated single, comparing its sound to the likes of a thrown out track from Christina Aguilera‘s Back To Basics era. Grande quickly took to social media to let fans know that the track is a departure from the rest of the upcoming album and that a new one would surface soon.
Early this year, the singer announced that she was back in the studio and changed the album’s Moonlight title to Dangerous Woman.
In the new track, Grande takes a more grown up approach as she slithers her way through the smoldering mix of electronic riffs and mid-tempo beats with her signature soaring vocals. And while the leathery bunny mask Grande sports on the album’s artwork looks like a child’s worst S&M nightmare, the song sounds like a grown-ass woman taking control and testing the limits of her sexual appetite. Not to mention, the song would make the perfect theme for a female-starring Bond film.
On Saturday, Ariana will take on double duties hosting and performing on Saturday Night Live, where she’s scheduled to perform her new single for the first time and debut another track from the album titled “Be Alright.” In addition to the confirmed SNL tracks, Dangerous Woman will contain 13 additional standard edition tracks, which include “Into You,” a collab with Lil Wayne titled “Let Me Love You,” and two other vocal collaborations. Rumors have circulated that Nicki Minaj is scheduled to make an appearance on the album, which would mark the third time the pair have teamed.
Dangerous Woman is out on May 20th, but you can listen to the title track below now.
