Introducing: Sara Bernstein
It’s been a minute since Listen! It’s Vetrano has welcomed a new writer and contributor to our growing family, but today I am excited to welcome Sara Bernstein to the site as our resident health and fitness guru. Sara will share her unique voice on health, food, beauty and more in her monthly column “Bernstein Cares,” which will debut next week on the site.
Bernstein was raised in beautiful Boulder, Colorado, which is, among other things, known for consistently topping the charts each year as one of –if not the— fittest cities in the country. She grew up skiing and snowboarding in the winter, waterskiing and going to camp in the mountains in the summer, and dancing all throughout high school. Suffice it to say, a generally healthy and active lifestyle was an ingrained part of Sara’s life during her adolescence, but she discovered that she had taken it for granted once in college.
Sara graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, with a Bachelors of Music in Professional Music, and an emphasis in performance. Although she spent her days studying her love of music at such a prestigious school, her time in Boston marked some of the darkest years of her life. Bernstein battled mild depression and a severe eating disorder during those years in school, which began her journey to health. Though serious and intense, she doesn’t regret the battles she faced because they led her to a passion for fields of health, fitness, nutrition, and self-love and acceptance.
Now, after spending some years healing her own body and mind, she is deeply passionate about helping others do the same. After receiving her certification to become a Holistic Health Coach, Bernstein launched her Health & Wellness coaching business, Sara Rose Health. “Not everyone is ready to make positive changes in their life, but once they are I am here to help. I will assist them to define what that looks like for them, and support them along the sometimes daunting journey,” Sara says about her business. “It’s important for others to know that they don’t have to go through these transformations alone.”
When she’s not helping others achieve their health and wellness goals, you’ll likely find Sara at Whole Foods, the gym, spending time with her adorable dog, Frankie, or dining with her supportive and encouraging friends throughout Music City.
