ready for springtime ☀️

This year has been a rollercoaster so far — life is changing in big ways. We’ve said goodbyes, we’ve started new adventures, and we invested in our community. There’s a lot to be thankful for in these trying times. Now though, I’m ready for some warmer weather and hope for a brighter tomorrow.

We took a break from the heartache last week to laugh, sing, and celebrate @joe__face. Surrounded by so many of our loves was the perfect way to not only ring in another year for Joe, but to remember the life of Bugsy — who showed up in the single pink balloon. Most of the night is a blur to be honest, but I’m so thankful for our crew who never fail to show up for us. You are all part of our chosen family and we couldn’t get through the highs or the lows without each of you. And my gratitude, of course, also includes the incredible team at @goldenponynashville. Thank you for taking such good care of us every time we walk through your doors. ✨

Rest easy, my little Bugsy. 💔

I cannot find the words to say goodbye to our angel girl. For 17 years (depending on when you asked), she took care of my @joe__face. She made him laugh until he cried. She made him smile when times felt sad. Simply said, she made him whole. I am forever grateful that she let me into that beautiful friendship ten and half years ago. A lover at heart, who gladly accepted (and often demanded) a belly rub, she made me earn her trust. She cared for Joe and she wanted to be sure that I would love him the same way that she did. But when she finally accepted me as Dad number two, she forever changed my heart.

Her little spirit was so full and so bright. Her smile brought people laughter and comfort. She taught her little sister @sweetdeedog how to act right and put her in her place when she didn’t. She was so many things to our family. The void she leaves will never fully be filled, but now she is free. Free to be her hilarious, beautiful, loving Bugsy on the other side.

We miss you, sweet girl. I’ll do my best to give your daddy all the love and light you brought him for so many years. We will never forget you. Thank you for being our girl. Thank you for changing our lives for good.

He makes me laugh like no else can, brings happiness when the world feels dark, and pushes me to be a better version of myself. Getting to celebrate all the things that make @joe__face so special is the real gift.

Had a little intimate send off for @cassadeepope last night before she hits the road for NYC to star in @titaniquemusical! Nearly 12 years ago, Cassadee came into my life at a transitional and critical time (swipe for proof). She helped guide me through some tough times and has seen me at some of my best. It hasn’t quite hit me yet that her Nashville chapter is coming to a close and that these quiet neighborhood dinners will become distant memories. I can’t imagine this place without her down the street.

I’m so proud of you, Cass! From the moment you landed in Nashville, you were destined for bigger things than this town could give you. I have always been in awe of your talent and I will never stop rooting for you. I will always by your side - as much as I possibly can from 880+ miles away. Love you forever! Break a leg. 💙

✨40✨

Over the past two weeks, my friends and family have been celebrating me in ways I could never imagine. From Nashville to Charleston, I was showered with birthday celebration and love. Turning 40 never scared me. But as the day approached, I questioned if I was ready for this new chapter. A transformational time in my life, I began to reflect on what being 40 would mean to me. And then, just like that, I was surrounded by people who reminded me of the memories made in the first 40 years and a promise of what was to come.

To the friends and family who celebrated me with encouraging notes or who were by my side for the fun, I thank you. It’s humbling to feel as celebrated as I was this last couple of weeks. I’m forever grateful to you all. And an extra special shout out, and note of thanks, to my husband. @joe__face, you never cease to amaze me with your generosity and love. This next chapter feels less unsure because I know you’re standing by me. I love you.

I love you all. You have made this 40 year old feel 20 again — at least in spirit. Now, I need a nap.
