Matt Morris Weekend

Singer, Matt Morris, has had a very busy week in promotion celebration of his debut album, When Everything Breaks Open, available now.  He had his record release party at New York’s Drom, where he was interviewed by a slew of publications, including US Weekly.  Last night, Morris appeared on David Letterman and then again on The Early Show this morning on CBS,  singing his single, “Money”, on both programs .  A smart choice by camp-Morris, seeing as the song became quite topical last week in the wake of the disaster in Haiti.  Matt performed with a full band, including Denver musicians Dave Preston and  Jon Powers.  If you missed Matt’s appearance on The Early Show, I have included the clip below.

In addition to his performances above, Matt will be performing on Ellen this coming Tuesday, which is a dream for the Colorado singer-songwriter.  When Matt found out, he posted this video on his YouTube account.

In case, you still haven’t gotten enough of Mr. Morris, be sure to pick up his album, When Everything Breaks Open, and tune in to his performance on January 19th on Ellen.  And for those who still haven’t gotten your fix, I’ve put together a collection of videos for your enjoyment.

First up: Matt Morris has written a slew of hits for Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, and his friend, Justin Timberlake.  He and Timberlake wrote “The Only Promise That Remains” for Reba’s Duets album, which Justin also appeared on.  Check out this video of Reba, Justin, and Matt talking about the process of writing and recording the song.

Next:  AOL followed Matt around his hometown (Denver, Colorado) to get a better sense of where he came from, who he is, and what inspires him.

Lastly:  His brief interview with Popnography gives fans a glimpse into what his process is for songwriting, both for himself and other artists.
