Wanna Put My Tender, Heart In A Blender

Alpha Media Group, who published “the ultimate guide to music and more”, Blender, announced yesterday that the April issue, on stands now, would be its last. In 1994 the creators of the magazine released its first issue as a digital CD-ROM. Since 2001, when its first magazine style issue hit the streets, Blender has brought music fans (mostly 18-34) joy with its editorial content, including reviews of various artists’ entire discography.

CEO, Stephen Duggan, of Alpha Media Group, who also publishes Maxim, wrote a company memo to staffers yesterday morning to announce the news. In the memo he said, “Since 2001, Blender has provided unmatched music coverage and entertainment news in its unique voice to a profoundly dedicated audience of music enthusiasts. We are particularly grateful to the sales team and to the tremendously talented editorial staff for their hard work and commitment to Blender.” As a subscriber to the long running magazine, Idol Insider is sad to see it go, but we wish the 30 staffers who were let go due to the decision the best of luck.

The publication will continue to run its online content at Blender.com, as the publishing group did with Stuff last year. The April issue, featuring Kelly Clarkson on the cover, is on stands now; be sure to pick up the final issue.
