Take 5: Liz Davis

She won the hearts of thousands last year on NBC’s The Voice, where she represented Nashville on Team Blake during the series’ third season. Since then, Liz Davis has been bringing her own brand of sass and kick-ass country to Music City. If you missed my two part interview with the singer with the big ole pipes from earlier this year, catch up now (part one / part two). And now, Davis is kicking off Tragic Kingdom’s newest segment: Take 5
We all love to know what inspires our favorite stars and want to know what – or who – is behind the lyrics of our favorite songs, but you can read about that anywhere. Take 5 gets you all the answers to the questions you never wanted to know (but maybe secretly do). So pop your corn and grab a shot glass cause we’re about to Take 5 with Nashville’s Liz Davis.
Take 5 with Liz Davis

Chris: If you were cast on Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise, what would your opening line be?

Liz Davis: [laughs] I watch all the Real Housewives, by the way… My line would be, “Some people call me a Fireball, but I prefer mine in a shotglass”

Chris: When not entertaining crowds of people with your music or writing, what do you do for fun during downtime?

Liz:  I like to be outside. I am outdoorsy kinda girl. I like to walk my dogs – Gaga and Madison [after the singer and her hometown in Mississippi]. And I love being around my friends.

Chris: If you were stranded on a deserted island without food or electricity and could only have 5 things with you, what would they be? And why?

Liz: Toothbrush / Toothpaste, Razor, Supply of Herbal Essances – I want to be the cleanest person on the island, –  Boombox & CD’s, and an endless supply of batteries. I can’t be on an island without music. And if I could bring one bonus, it’d be some beer!

Chris: Where is your favorite place to travel (for fun) and/or be when not working on, or touring for, music?

Liz: I love Destin, Florida! I grew up going 2 times a year and I have great memories from those trips.

Chris: This is probably the most important question of all: ‘NSYNC or BSB?

Liz: Truthfully? BSB! I was Backstreet FOR LIFE! I was kinda mad when NSYNC took over. I was a hardcore Nick Carter fan. Funny story, I actually had the opportunity to write with him once, but I wasn’t sure I could do it. I mean what would I say? I’m Team Nick forever. Don’t tell him though… [she smiles]

Chris: Hopefully he won’t read this.
[Note: I think we all know that even though I may have said that to make our country girl feel comfortable, you know I actually DO hope he reads this and, despite his recent engagement, the two end up making beautiful music together.]

Look for Liz Davis’ new music coming soon and be sure to “Like” Liz on Facebook to stay up to date with her for all the latest.
