Sad news, Idol fans. David Cook’s brother, who has been battling brain cancer for some time, passed away this morning. David, who was not able to be with his brother when he passed, announced the sad news this morning after he finished the 5K Race for Hope in Washington D.C.

Cook’s brother, Adam Cook, had made David try out for Idol. Had it not been for him, the world may never know David Cook, the superstar. Check out this video of David delivering the sad and emotional news this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this difficult time.
