Music Monday: Summer Songs 2015
I’m back from summer vacation (more on that in this Thursdays new video)! And while it’s been rough trying to tear my relaxed and tanned body from bed and back to reality this morning, I am excited to be back to the Listen! It’s Vetrano family. In the next couple of weeks, I will be introducing a number of new features on the site that I think you’ll enjoy and that will expand our growing family. One of the newest additions is Music Mondays, my weekly playlist of curated music to keep you jamming all week long. This week, in honor of my long beach vacation and days sitting pool side…

Q&A: Bandit Heart
For fans of the CW series Reign, last night’s ending may have struck a chord. A song that set the tone for a pivotal ending, leading the series to its weekly conclusion. The song acting as the backdrop? “Don’t Let Me Go,” new single from Bandit Heart, the latest project from Nashville’s song-maker Troy Akers. No stranger to the music scene, Akers has spent a good portion of the last year working on honing his songwriting talent, which led to a cut on Amy Stroup‘s record called “Dark Runs Out” and the title track of Neulore‘s new album. Most recognizably though, Akers is one-third of the pop act The CO, who delivered their last full length album…

Kelly Clarkson Shares Her Heartbeat
One day you’re hot and the next your not. That’s the story so often with musicians in today’s industry, who constantly have to fight to find relevance on radio’s fickle playlists. Though nothing has been farther from reality for Kelly Clarkson, who began delivering her anthemic pop hits over a decade ago after winning the first season of American Idol. Following her wildly successful Stronger record in 2011, the singer took some well-deserved time off to marry Brandon Blackstock, son of her manager Narvel and manager to Blake Shelton, and give birth to her daughter River Rose. During the time off though, Kelly released a Greatest Hits compilation which included new singles…

First Listen: The Civil Wars "The One That Got Away"
Nashville’s Cinderella story, The Civil Wars, were on top of their game: Grammy’s, praise from even the harshest critics and a hit album. Then, with very little notice, it was over. John Paul White and Joy Williams announced their hiatus late last year, which quickly spread, and it seemed the band who were about to secure their place in music history had ended. Earlier this year though, the band announced that their second album – the first on Sony Music – would indeed be released. And while fans and critics rejoiced, it was surely a question if the duo, who were clearly broken, would have the same chemistry that won…

The Best Of 2010
As I prepare to celebrate another year’s end, I can’t help but reminisce about the whirlwind year that has passed by so quickly. If 2010 brought one thing, it was great music. Some of the best albums of the new millennium’s decade popped up in its last year and I was there salivating over each and every note. This year also granted me access to some new discovery, as I traveled to music festivals across the country, including South By Southwest and The UMS, discovering bright new gems to add to my ever growing playlist. And finally, my year ended with a move east to the “Crazy Town”: Nashville, Tennessee.…

Idol Updates
It seems everywhere you turn these days there’s an Idol alum in your path, mostly because that’s the truth. About to enter its 9th season, American Idol, has run through some of America’s best talent and with each season it seems more and more of the contestants go on to be winners, despite their loss on the reality program, leaving the majority of our playlists, car stereos, and download logs to include some Idol association somewhere. This will be illustrated at this year’s American Music Awards, airing November 22nd on ABC, when Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, and Adam Lambert will all take the stage to perform their latest hits…

Lambert in 2012
American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert, will have a song featured in the new film, 2012, which will arrive in theaters on November 13th. And they must be predicting the song will be a bigger blockbuster than the movie, seeing as they feature clips of Lambert recording the song in the movie’s trailer. The movie actually looks really good and the song, “Time For Miracles”, sounds like something I need to add to my Top Playlist! Check out the trailer featuring our favorite Glambert below.
