Chances are you’re bored. The coronavirus pandemic started up at the beginning of the year and other the next few months, countries around the world began to notice the threat it faced. In order to slow its spread and save lives, guidelines and measures have been put into place to encourage people to stay home. Unless you’re a key worker, the only reason you should be going out is for essential purposes – buying food, getting some daily exercise, picking up medication… the list is pretty short. Of course, the majority of us are aware that staying home is a small price to pay for the sake of saving lives. But this doesn’t really take away from the fact that sitting home all day every day can get pretty boring, especially after a couple of months. So, what can you do to lighten up the mood and brighten up your day? Here are a few ideas to get you started!
Now, some of us just don’t like reading. But if you have a book that’s been sitting on your shelf for months that you just haven’t had time to get around to reading in your day to day life, you might want to pick it up now. Now is a great time to start turning the pages and rediscover a love for reading, learning something or immersing yourself into a good story. If you don’t like the activity of reading itself, but do like a good story, an audiobook might be a good alternative for you. Then you can just kick back and relax and listen to the tale.
TV Shows and Films
TV shows and films are a great way to pass time. You might even find a new favorite. Sure, it’s probably not ideal to binge series on Netflix all day every day. You need some variety in your life. But an episode here and there or just one day of binging a series could really lift your spirits.
Most of us like gaming. If you already have your own console, chances are you’ve been playing already. But if you don’t have a console and want to try gaming out, you can still get involved. Many games can be played on your laptop or phone. So, look up some games you can play online. There are all sorts out there, from simulator games to racing games and more.
You might not consider yourself the artsy type. But painting can be therapeutic and you may even find you discover a hidden talent. It could be anything. Traditional painting. Paint by numbers. Watercolors. Whatever you fancy trying your hand at.

They’ll rid you of boredom and can help to occupy your mind during these pretty stressful and uncertain times! If these don’t work for you, try something else.
