First Listen: Ryan Adams New Single
It’s been a hot second (and here in Nashville, I mean that a bit more literally than I had hoped) since I’ve updated you with some new tunes and the latest and greatest from the music scene. I promise when you see what’s to come you’re going to see it’s been well worth the wait. But, I still feel like I’ve left you to face this hot summer without any new music to cool you off. So as we start to dream of cooler times and the crisp air that fall is to bring, I bring you a glimpse of what’s to come with a first listen of Ryan Adams‘ new…

Hollywood With A Touch of Twang
One of the best things about moving to a new city is discovering its local cuisine and the favorite hot spots of its residents. In Nashville, this means being in the company of some chart topping artists and well-known songwriters. Since my move to this great city, which was almost a year ago (WOW!), readers, friends and family have asked me my recommendations on my favorite spots in town. Although a bit of a detour from the music-related posts, I put together some of my picks to add to your itinerary if you’re planning a trip to Music City anytime soon. Start your day at one of the great coffee…

Tragic Kingdom’s featured artist this month, The CO, stopped by 12th & Porter in Nashville for a charity event, raising awareness for the DALIT Freedom Network – click here for more information – and the boys rocked. Despite the sound guy’s unfortunate performance, we captured the newest members of the Tragic Kingdom family performing their latest single “Camo” for your enjoyment. The single will be released digitally later this month, along with a whole slew of goodies from the band. And Tragic Kingdom is gearing up to bring you a little something special from Collin, Troy and Nate, as well. So, don’t forget to follow me on Twitter and/or Facebook for updates, exclusive…

I Can Take It
When I moved to Nashville from Denver last fall, I knew things wouldn’t be easy. Meeting new people, integrating into a new environment, and learning my way around a new city were the exciting challenges that I was ready to take on. In the next couple of weeks, I am going to shift focus from music for a minute here and there to introduce you to some of the exciting findings from my journey. While proving to be worth it, the journey to Nashville has been a rough road. When I started going through the catalog of Tragic Kingdom’s first featured songwriter, John Edwards, I couldn’t help but connect with…

A Night of Hope for Kelly Clarkson
Last night, Nashville showcased its charitable heart at the A Night For Hope event, which featured Kelly Clarkson, as well as Jill & Kate, Shane McNally, and more. The event was organized to raise awareness for the Houses of Hope orphanages in Zimbabwe and South Africa. It was at the event that Clarkson, debuted a new song, during her five song set. “You Still Won’t Know”, the new track, was accompanied by her hits: “Behind These Hazel Eyes”, “My Life Would Suck Without You”, and “Walkaway”. Clarkson is beginning to prep the release of a new album, slated for Spring 2011, and will begin a promotional tour around the same…

Matt Morris Recalls "My First Snow"… and Yours
It’s that time of year; the air is crisp, the leaves are crunchy, and the stores are filling up with holiday cheer. And, as it seems to every year, the holiday season is quickly approaching. Today, my friends and neighbors from Denver (my home just 4 months ago) post about the cold, wintery weather that the Mile High City is facing, but for me this year might not be quite like the white Christmases I remember. Nashville, while feeling cool and crisp, has yet to see any of those white flakes drop from the sky. But, just as I’ve almost completely forgotten about the winter days, sledding in my backyard…

The Country Can’t Wait
If it wasn’t apparent by my lack of updates recently, I should tell you that I have been quite busy. Following a very successful run in Denver, I decided (yes, the decision was mine) to move to Nashville. And since I’m now officially a resident of Music City, I am excited to introduce you to some of the incredible talent that this town has to offer. Besides the great music you can catch on any given night of the week, the random run ins with my new neighbors, Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, and the southern hospitality, Nashville is playing host to one of the biggest events in country music, the…

Yes She Can!…And Did!
For the first time in 9 years, a female took home the top spot at the Academy of Country Music Awards tonight. The reigning Top Female Vocalist and America’s Season 4 Idol, Carrie Underwood, was named the seventh female to be nominated as entertainer of the year and was the first to score the honor since 2000, when the Dixie Chicks were awarded the honor. Congrats to Carrie, who also received the award as Top Female Vocalist again and performed twice throughout the evening. Check out the video highlights from the night, the speech needs a little explanation if you missed the awards: Brooks & Dunn perform with Rascal Flatts,…
